Overview
The Blue Sea Systems 7748 is a SafetyHub 150 fuse block that combines four AMI or MIDI fuse positions for circuits up to 200A and six ATO or ATC fuse positions for circuits up to 30A in one housing for main or branch DC distribution. It is ignition protected for gasoline-powered boats and works on 12V, 24V, and 32V systems.
This layout keeps high-amp feeds and lower-draw 24-hour circuits close to the battery instead of spreading inline fuse holders around the boat. The sealed cover is rated IP66 and satisfies ABYC and USCG insulation requirements, which matters in battery compartments, console spaces, and other areas that see spray, washdowns, and vibration.
A built-in negative bus gives you one place to land return wires, and the screw-termination layout makes service work easier when you are tracing circuits or cleaning up an older rewire. Fuses are sold separately, so the final protection setup can be matched to the actual loads on board.
Key features
- Ten fused circuits in one housing with four AMI or MIDI positions and six ATO or ATC positions
- High-amp fuse positions accept 30A to 200A fuses for loads such as panel feeds, windlasses, and stereo amplifiers
- Low-amp fuse positions accept 1A to 30A fuses for circuits such as bilge pumps, electronics, alarms, and lights
- Screw-termination layout cuts down on separate connection points and helps tidy battery-area wiring
- Ignition-protected construction allows use on gasoline-powered boats
- IP66 cover shields the fuse area from washdowns and meets ABYC and USCG insulation requirements
- Integrated negative bus keeps return connections in the same location as the protected circuits
- Write-on circuit labels, a fuse puller, and storage for spare fuses make service work quicker on the water or at the dock
- M8 x 1.25 studs accept M8 5/16 inch ring terminals, and one-piece stainless flange nuts help hold the main connections securely
Installation and setup
This fuse block makes the most sense when you want a single protected distribution point near the battery or in a dedicated electrical locker. It can be used as a main DC distribution point, as a branch distribution block, or as part of a wider panel-fed system where higher-current cables and 24-hour circuits need short, protected runs.
Because the fuse types are split between AMI or MIDI and ATO or ATC, it fits mixed systems that carry both larger loads and smaller always-on loads. That works well on boats where one enclosure needs to serve panel supply, windlass or amplifier feed, bilge pump power, electronics memory, and lighting circuits without adding separate fuse holders for each group.
Compatibility and fit
It fits well in rewires, repowers, and new builds on ski boats, center consoles, cruising boats, and offshore fishing boats where ignition protection and cleaner cable routing matter. It is also useful when the battery area is getting crowded and you want the fuse layout, spare fuse storage, and circuit labeling in one place instead of spread across several components.
