This region includes nautical chart and SonarChart layers with contour detail up to 1 ft, plus tools like depth range shading (up to 10 ranges), shallow water shading, and Auto Guidance+ route guidance on supported plotters.
A one-year subscription is included so you can access daily chart updates and downloadable layers through the ActiveCaptain app. Updates can also be managed with Navionics Chart Installer on a computer using a card reader.

Variants
This product is offered in multiple configurations for the same U.S. North & Great Lakes region, with two chart versions and two delivery formats.
The version varies between Garmin Navionics+ and Garmin Navionics Vision+, and the format varies between a preloaded microSD/SD card and a download. Each option includes a one-year subscription for daily updates.
- 010-C1289-20: Version Garmin Navionics+; format microSD/SD. Preloaded card that runs from the chartplotter card slot.
- 010-D1891-20: Version Garmin Navionics+; format download. Delivered electronically for use on compatible Garmin chartplotters.
- 010-C1289-00: Version Garmin Navionics Vision+; format microSD/SD. Adds additional visual layers such as relief shading, satellite imagery, and 3D views on supported plotters.
- 010-D1891-00: Version Garmin Navionics Vision+; format download. Delivered electronically with the Vision+ feature set for compatible Garmin chartplotters.
Compatibility and setup
Before purchasing, confirm your chartplotter supports Garmin Navionics+ or Garmin Navionics Vision+ mapping for plug-in cards and has an available microSD/SD slot. For download formats, confirm your device supports the same region and chart type through the chart download workflow used by your Garmin marine system.
If you plan to use Auto Guidance+, take a moment to enter your boat settings such as draft and overhead clearance in the chartplotter. Treat the suggested route as a planning aid and verify it against conditions, local knowledge, and safe navigation practices.
Updates and chart management
The included one-year subscription enables daily chart updates and access to downloadable layers. Many boaters update through the ActiveCaptain app, and you can also update and manage chart layers with Navionics Chart Installer using a computer and card reader. After the subscription period ends, the charts remain usable in the state they were last updated, and renewing is required for new daily updates and newly downloaded content.
Use on board
This region is a good match for Great Lakes cruising, inland lake boating, and fishing trips where contour detail matters for route planning and finding structure. The Vision+ version is a solid fit when you prefer extra visual reference like relief shading, satellite imagery, and aerial photos for unfamiliar shorelines and harbor approaches.
