Overview
The Simrad AA010212 is a 20 m (66 ft) radar scanner connection cable for BR24 and Broadband 3G/4G radar installations. It is used when the radar scanner is mounted up on a mast, arch, hardtop, or radar pole and the system connection point is down at the helm or in an electronics bay.
At 20 meters, it gives you room for a clean routing path, service loops, and vertical rises without forcing an in-line join partway through the boat. Measure the real cable route you will run, not the straight-line distance, before choosing length.
Key features
- 20 m (66 ft) scanner connection cable for Simrad BR24 and Broadband 3G/4G radar systems
- Useful for longer runs from the radar mounting point to the helm or electronics compartment
- Helps avoid adding mid-run connections in lockers and other damp areas when a single continuous run is preferred
- Made for Broadband radar scanner cabling and connections, not general-purpose network or power wiring
Compatibility and fit
This cable is specific to Simrad BR24, 3G, and 4G Broadband radar scanner installations. It is not interchangeable with generic Ethernet cables, NMEA cabling, or other radar family harnesses.
If you are replacing an existing lead, match the scanner generation and the connector style on your current setup so the cable ends mate correctly at both the scanner and the system connection point.
Installation and setup
Route the cable where it stays protected from chafe, tight bends, and heat. Use proper grommets or deck glands at every pass-through, and secure the run so vibration does not let it rub on fiberglass edges or aluminum supports.
Leave a drip loop before the connection point and keep connectors out of standing water. After a few trips, re-check clamps and pass-throughs, especially on boats that see heavy washdowns or frequent salt spray.
Use on board
This length is a common fit for sailboats with a mast-mounted dome, pilothouse boats with a longer hardtop run, and larger center consoles where the scanner sits high above the helm. It also works well when radar connections live in a protected locker away from the display.
