Overview
The Lumishore 010-04352-00 is a surface-mount underwater LED light that runs on 12V DC and outputs white light for transom or hull-side mounting. It puts out 1,100 fixture lumens in a 60° beam and is sealed to an IP68 water-ingress rating for underwater use.
The face measures 85mm (3.34 in) across with a low 10mm (0.39 in) housing profile, which helps when you are working with limited space on the stern. Power is through a 2m (6 ft 6 in) cable and the housing is marine-grade polymer, so it fits well on boats that see regular saltwater spray and washdowns.
Key features
- 12V DC only input range (10.5 to 14.5 V DC) with a maximum current draw of 1 A
- White output rated at 1,100 fixture lumens in a 60° beam
- IP68-rated sealing for below-waterline mounting and washdown exposure
- Internal driver with simple on/off switch control
- Compact physical footprint: 85mm face diameter with a 10mm housing profile
- 2m (6 ft 6 in) power cable for routing to a switch and fuse location
- Built-in protections including surge protection (3,000V), reverse polarity protection, soft start, and automatic thermal roll-back
- Bonding not required
Compatibility and fit
This light is for 12V DC systems only, so it is a fit for boats that do not need 24V lighting on the underwater circuit. It works well when you want a straightforward two-wire light that can be switched from a standard on/off switch at the helm or a lighting panel.
For underwater mounting, placement about 100 to 300mm (4 to 12 in) below the waterline is commonly used to keep the beam in the water without being buried too deep. When multiple lights are installed, spacing around 2.5 to 3 ft between fixtures helps keep the light pool looking even.
Installation and setup
Mounting requires one cable pass-through with a 13mm (1/2 in) hole and three mounting screw holes, on a flat section of transom or side hull where you can reach the back side for sealing and cable routing. The cable entry area is recessed on the outside of the hull to accept the cable gland on the back of the light.
Seal the cable entry and fasteners properly before launch. A marine sealant such as 3M 4200 is specified for the installation, and the sealant should be fully cured before the boat goes back in the water.
Keep the fixture away from exhaust outlets and other heat sources. Tighten the fasteners by hand and avoid power tools to prevent stressing the housing and seal.
Electrical and system integration
Wire the light to a 12V DC circuit with switching on the positive feed. Each light should be protected with its own 2A fuse, and the system supports normal marine voltage swing within the 10.5 to 14.5 V DC range.
With the driver built into the fixture, there is no external driver box to mount. Low-voltage roll-back and cut-out logic is built in to help protect the electronics if the supply drops too far under load.
Materials and corrosion resistance
The housing is marine-grade polymer and the installation uses A4 stainless steel mounting screws. This combination suits transom locations that see constant spray, UV exposure, and vibration without adding bonding requirements to your underwater hardware plan.
Maintenance and care
Routine cleaning is usually minimal when the boat is used regularly. If the lens needs attention, use a soft cloth or a soft-bristled brush and avoid cleaners that contain solvents, acids, or alkalis, since those can damage the lens and housing finish.
