The Garmin Navionics NSUS011R Canada North is an electronic chart region for compatible Garmin chartplotters, covering northern, coastal, and inland Canada, including the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and northern Quebec. It includes major waters such as Hudson Bay, Hudson Strait, the Northwestern Passage, and a wide range of inland lakes.

Depending on the version, you get Garmin Navionics+ (NSUS011R) or Garmin Navionics Vision+ (NVUS011R), each supplied with a one-year subscription for daily chart updates. Chart layers support depth range shading with up to 10 color options, shallow water shading, and bottom contours as fine as 1 ft (0.5 m) in supported areas.

Variants differ by cartography level (Garmin Navionics+ vs Garmin Navionics Vision+) and by how you receive it (microSD/SD card vs download). Subscription-backed content and updates depend on the included subscription period and device compatibility.

• 010-C1454-20: Version Garmin Navionics+; Format microSD/SD. This is the preloaded card option that runs directly from your chartplotter's chart card slot.
• 010-D2182-20: Version Garmin Navionics+; Format Download. This option is delivered digitally and is loaded to a memory card for use in the chartplotter.
• 010-C1454-00: Version Garmin Navionics Vision+; Format microSD/SD. This adds premium mapping layers, with additional content available through the ActiveCaptain app during the subscription period.
• 010-D2182-00: Version Garmin Navionics Vision+; Format Download. This is the digital version of Vision+ for users who prefer to install the chart to a memory card via download.

Installation and setup

For the microSD/SD versions, insert the card into the chartplotter's chart slot and select the chart source in the chart menu. For download versions, install the chart to a compatible memory card using the appropriate chart installer workflow, then use that card in the chartplotter.

Plan on having your chartplotter software updated to the January 2022 marine software release or newer for Garmin Navionics+ and Garmin Navionics Vision+ support. If your display is older, check compatibility before counting on access to subscription-backed layers and updates.

Updates and subscriptions

A one-year subscription is included, which enables daily chart updates and access to additional downloadable content during the subscription period. After the subscription ends, the charts and any content you already downloaded remain on the card, but new downloads and ongoing daily updates require an active subscription.

Updates and downloads are typically managed through the ActiveCaptain app, and some workflows can also be handled through Garmin Express depending on your setup.

Compatibility and fit

This is Garmin-format cartography and is intended for compatible Garmin chartplotters. It will not load on chartplotters from other brands, even if they accept microSD or SD media.

Auto Guidance+ is meant for planning assistance and does not replace on-the-water navigation practices, local knowledge, or keeping a proper lookout.

Use on board

This region is a practical match for cruisers, expedition boats, and anglers running Canada's northern coastlines and big-water passages, as well as boats that split time between saltwater routes and inland lakes.
