Overview
The TACO Marine F16-2700-1 is a polished stainless steel single rod hanger kit for storing one fishing rod securely on board. It uses a spring-lock rod tip holder and a stationary hanger to keep the rod in place while the boat is moving, with a clean installation that hides the mounting screws.
This hanger accepts rod butts up to 1-1/2 inches in diameter, making it useful for many common saltwater and freshwater fishing rods. The high-polished Type 316L stainless steel finish suits visible mounting locations such as under a gunwale, inside a rod locker, on a bridge overhead, or along a cockpit storage area.
Key features
- Spring-lock rod tip holder helps keep the rod seated during cruising, trailering, or rough dockside movement.
- Accepts rod butts up to 1-1/2 inches in diameter for broad compatibility with common fishing rod handles.
- High-polished Type 316L stainless steel construction is a strong fit for saltwater environments and exposed boat storage areas.
- Concealed fasteners and recessed mounting holes give the installation a finished look once mounted.
- Delrin inserts help support the rod contact points without a bare-metal feel.
- Can be mounted vertically, horizontally, or overhead, depending on the available storage space on the boat.
Installation and mounting
The hanger works well where rods need to be stored out of the way but still easy to reach, such as under gunwales, inside lockers, on hardtop or bridge overheads, and in cockpit storage zones. Before drilling, check that the selected surface has enough backing strength for the rod weight and the movement expected underway.
Because the mounting holes are recessed and the screws are concealed after installation, the finished setup looks tidy on visible surfaces. For fiberglass or cored panels, seal drilled holes properly to keep water out of the laminate or core.
Use on board
This is a practical match for anglers who want a fixed rod storage point without using deck space or leaning rods against the console, transom, or cabin side. It is especially useful on fishing boats, center consoles, bay boats, and cruising boats where rods need to stay organized between runs, during dockside rigging, or while the boat is stored.
