Overview
The Raymarine R70430 is a replacement detachable fist microphone assembly for Raymarine Ray60, Ray70, Ray63, and Ray73 fixed-mount VHF radios. It gives the helm a direct push-to-talk microphone with built-in control over common radio functions, including channel up/down, hi/low transmit power selection, and quick access to channel 16 or another preferred channel.
This fist mic is useful when the original microphone is worn, damaged, or missing, and it also supports installations where the microphone needs to be positioned for easier access at the wheel, cockpit, or console. The detachable layout and front or rear connection flexibility help keep the radio body and microphone placement practical on boats with limited dash space.
Key features
- Replacement detachable fist microphone for Raymarine Ray60, Ray70, Ray63, and Ray73 VHF radios.
- Built-in channel up/down controls keep basic VHF operation at the microphone.
- Hi/low power selection can be handled from the mic without reaching for the radio body.
- Instant access button supports channel 16 or another preferred channel for quick VHF use.
- Noise-canceling microphone helps voice transmissions stay intelligible around engine, wind, and cockpit background noise.
- Front or rear connection flexibility supports cleaner routing in helm, console, and flush-mount installations.
Compatibility and fit
This assembly is made for Raymarine Ray60, Ray70, Ray63, and Ray73 VHF radios. It should be matched to one of those radio models before ordering, since VHF microphones use model-specific connectors and controls rather than a universal plug.
Installation and setup
The detachable microphone can be connected from the front or rear depending on the radio installation and cable path. For a tidy helm layout, leave enough room around the mounting point for the coiled cable and for lifting the mic on and off its holder during normal operation.
Use on board
This fist mic suits boats where the VHF is used from the main helm, cockpit, or navigation station and the operator needs quick control without working through the radio face every time. It is especially practical for replacing a damaged mic while keeping the existing Raymarine VHF system in service.
