Overview
The Garmin Navionics Pacific Islands (NSPC014L) is an electronic chart region for compatible Garmin chartplotters, covering a wide spread of islands across the Pacific for route planning, navigation, and fishing.
This region is offered as Garmin Navionics+ (chart code NSPC014L) or Garmin Navionics Vision+ (chart code NVPC014L). A one-year subscription is included, which enables daily chart updates through the ActiveCaptain app. Depth range shading supports up to 10 color-shaded target depth ranges, and Auto Guidance+ can generate dock-to-dock route suggestions for planning.
You can get it as a preloaded microSD/SD card or as a download that is written to an SD card using Garmin Express. Your chartplotter reads the chart data from the card, so the card needs to remain installed while you use the charts.
Key features
- Pacific Islands coverage that includes the Hawaiian Islands, Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Papua New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands.
- Two cartography levels: Garmin Navionics+ (standard) and Garmin Navionics Vision+ (adds relief shading, satellite imagery, aerial photos, and 3D views where available).
- microSD/SD card or Download format, depending on how you prefer to install and manage the chart data.
- One-year subscription included for daily chart updates through the ActiveCaptain app.
- Auto Guidance+ route suggestions for trip planning and depth range shading with up to 10 target depth ranges.
Variants
This chart region is offered in multiple configurations based on the cartography level and delivery format.
The main difference is Navionics+ versus Navionics Vision+, plus whether the region arrives on a preloaded card or is downloaded and then written to a card with Garmin Express. The coverage area stays tied to the Pacific Islands region code for each version.
- 010-C1279-20: Garmin Navionics+ in microSD/SD format. This comes on a card that installs directly into a compatible chartplotter slot.
- 010-D1881-20: Garmin Navionics+ in Download format. The chart data is downloaded with Garmin Express and written to an SD card before it can be used on the chartplotter.
- 010-C1279-00: Garmin Navionics Vision+ in microSD/SD format. This adds the Vision+ visual layers and arrives on a preloaded card for direct installation.
- 010-D1881-00: Garmin Navionics Vision+ in Download format. This uses Garmin Express to load the Vision+ region onto an SD card for use in the chartplotter.
Compatibility and fit
This product is for compatible Garmin chartplotters that support Garmin Navionics+ and Garmin Navionics Vision+ cartography. The unit needs the appropriate card slot (microSD or SD, depending on the model and adapter used), because the chart data is read from the card while you navigate.
If you are using a Download variant, plan on having a computer available for Garmin Express and an SD card dedicated to the chart region. For onboard updating, ActiveCaptain requires a compatible chartplotter connection and a mobile device running the app.
Updates and subscription notes
The included one-year subscription enables daily chart updates and access to downloadable content through ActiveCaptain where available for the region. After the subscription term ends, any content already downloaded to the card remains on the card, but additional downloads and updates are not available unless the subscription is renewed.
Installation and setup
For microSD/SD versions, insert the card into the chartplotter and follow the on-screen prompts to select the chart. For subscription activation and updates, connect the chartplotter to the ActiveCaptain app and download updates to the installed card.
For Download versions, use Garmin Express to download the region and write it to an SD card, then insert that card into the chartplotter. Keep the chart card installed during use so the chartplotter can access the map data.
Use on board
This region makes sense for boats that regularly cruise, fish, or transit between island groups in the Pacific where having consistent chart coverage across long passages matters. Depth range shading is handy when you are working reef edges and banks and want your target depths to stand out at a glance.
It is a good match for skippers who plan routes on a chartplotter and want the option to keep charts current through the ActiveCaptain workflow, especially when moving between multiple ports and anchorages over a season.
