Overview
The TACO Marine F16-0151-1 is a quick release fender lock for keeping boat fenders set at the same working height each time you dock. Instead of retying a fender line at the rail or cleat, the line stays secured to the removable pin, then the pin drops into the deck fitting when the fender is needed.
This hardware is made from Type-316L stainless steel with a high-polish finish, so it suits exposed deck, cockpit, and gunwale locations where saltwater spray and regular handling are part of normal use. The large push button allows one-hand release, and the 7/8" rope hole gives room for fender line attachment without making the setup feel cramped.
With an overall height above deck of 1-19/32", it keeps a low profile once installed. The fitting installs through the gunwale with a 3/4" drill bit and includes a 1/4" drain plug.

- Installs through the gunwale with a 3/4" drill bit.
- Includes a 1/4" drain plug.
- Covered by a 3-year limited warranty.
Installation and fit
This fender lock is meant for boats where fenders need to go on and off quickly without changing the line length every time. The receiver mounts through the gunwale or another suitable deck surface, and the fender line ties to the removable pin through the 7/8" hole near the push button.
Before drilling, check that the chosen location has enough clearance below the mounting surface for the fitting and drain plug. The mounting position should place the fender at the correct height for the hull and dock style, especially on boats that use the same slip, floating dock, or rafting setup often.
Use on board
This is a practical upgrade for cruisers, fishing boats, and day boats that regularly handle fenders during docking. It is especially useful where the same fenders are deployed in the same positions, such as along the cockpit, midship, or stern quarter.
The low deck height and high-polish stainless finish help the fitting blend with other deck hardware while still leaving the push button easy to reach. Once the fender line is set, the crew can drop the pin into place without searching for the right line length at the dock.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the fitting with fresh water after saltwater use and wipe around the push button and receiver to keep grit from building up. Regular cleaning helps the stainless finish keep its appearance and keeps the release action moving smoothly through the season.
