Overview
The Blue Sea Systems 7635 is a 12V low voltage disconnect that drops non-essential DC loads before the battery is pulled too low. It carries 65A continuously, handles 115A for 5 minutes, and lets you set the disconnect point from 11.3V to 12.1V, with a 13V reconnect point.
This is a battery protection device, not a battery combiner or charging relay. It gives a visual low-voltage warning before it opens the circuit, supports an optional alarm output, and includes a remote control switch so the disconnect setting and override functions can be handled from a more convenient spot. The housing is IP67-rated for temporary immersion and can be mounted on the surface, through the front panel, or from the rear.
Key features
- 12V DC low voltage disconnect for non-essential loads on single-battery systems
- 65A continuous rating and 115A intermittent rating for 5 minutes
- Adjustable disconnect setting from 11.3V to 12.1V, with reconnect at 13V
- Included remote control switch allows threshold adjustment, 10-minute override, and temporary OFF control until voltage rises
- Status light on both the unit and remote switch warns before disconnect, with alarm output available for an optional audible warning
- Surface, front-panel, or rear-panel mounting to suit different helm and electrical panel layouts
- IP67-rated for temporary immersion and compliant with ISO 8846 and SAE J1171 external ignition protection requirements
- 1/4 in-20 (M6) tinned brass studs accept up to 1/0 AWG cable
What’s included
- m-LVD Low Voltage Disconnect
- Remote Control Switch
Compatibility and fit
This unit is for 12V DC systems. It fits installations where stereo loads, lighting, pumps, or other non-essential house circuits need to be dropped automatically so more battery capacity is left for engine starting or battery recovery in a single-battery setup.
It is not the right choice for 24V systems or for combining charging sources between batteries. Where ignition-protected equipment is required, its ISO 8846 and SAE J1171 compliance is an important fit detail.
Installation and setup
Mounting can be done on the surface, from the front panel, or from the rear panel, which helps when space behind a helm, locker face, or electrical panel is limited. The rear insulating cover keeps the back contacts protected once the wiring is in place.
The remote control switch is included. From that switch you can adjust the disconnect setting in 0.2V steps, delay a disconnect for 10 minutes with Override, or turn the circuit off until voltage rises again. A status light on both the main unit and the remote switch shows when low voltage warning or disconnect is active.
Use on board
This is a sensible fit for center consoles, trailer boats, small cruisers, and other 12V boats that depend on one battery for both starting and accessory loads. It also suits service vehicles running a single 12V battery where holding enough reserve for restart matters.
