Overview
The i2Systems 530-00486 is a closed-cell foam gasket used when installing i2Systems Ember Series lights to help seal the fixture against the mounting surface.
It sits between the light housing and the boat surface and compresses as the light is fastened, which helps keep water from working behind the fixture during rain, spray, and washdowns. It also makes sense to replace the gasket any time an Ember light comes off for rewiring or service so the reinstall is not relying on a flattened, reused seal.
This gasket is sold individually.
Key features
- Closed-cell foam construction that resists soaking up water when compressed in place
- Made for i2Systems Ember Series lights
- Helps restore the seal when re-bedding an existing fixture
- Supports a cleaner reinstall after pulling a light for access or troubleshooting
- Simple replacement part that keeps service work straightforward
Compatibility and fit
Compatibility is specific to i2Systems Ember Series lights. The gasket needs to match the light base and sealing surface to do its job, so confirm you are working with an Ember fixture before ordering.
The gasket works best on a smooth, clean mounting area. If the surface has heavy texture, old sealant ridges, or damage around the cutout, take the time to level and clean the area so the gasket can compress evenly.
Installation and setup
Remove the light, peel away the old gasket or sealant, and clean the mounting surface so it is free of oils and loose residue. Place the gasket so it lines up with the light base before setting the fixture back in position.
Tighten fasteners evenly so the gasket compresses uniformly around the perimeter. If you use bedding compound, apply it sparingly so the gasket can seat properly without excess squeeze-out.
Maintenance and care
Inspect the gasket any time the light is removed. Replace it if it is torn, permanently flattened, or contaminated with old sealant that will not clean off.
Keeping a spare on board can save time when a light has to come off unexpectedly during a wiring or hardware job.
