Overview

The Victron Energy ASS030720118 is a VE.Can to CAN-bus BMS Type B cable for linking a compatible CAN-bus enabled battery to a Victron system. It is a 1.8 m cable, about 5.9 ft, used where the battery installation calls for the Victron Type B CAN-bus BMS wiring layout.

Installation and setup

Install the cable with the CAN-bus BMS end at the battery and the VE.Can end at the Victron GX device. The Type B pin-out is specific, so it should not be treated as a generic straight-through network patch lead unless the battery documentation explicitly allows that wiring.

After connection, configure the GX device for the battery system being used. In many installations, a VE.Can terminator may also be required in the remaining VE.Can socket on the GX device, depending on the full network layout.
