Overview
The Perko 0322 is a cast bronze thru-hull connection for use with pipe on boats that need a through-hull fitting built for below-waterline plumbing service. It is made for pipe-size installations rather than hose-only connections, with a plain bronze finish and a flange that is machined to sit against the hull.
The fitting range covered here includes 2 inch, 2-1/2 inch, and 3 inch pipe sizes, with mounting hole diameters from 2-3/8 inches to 3-1/2 inches depending on the variant. Maximum hull thickness ranges from 2-3/8 inches to 2-3/4 inches, so checking the hull laminate thickness and hole size before ordering is important.
The flange is grooved to help retain bedding compound during installation, and the neck is threaded to approximately 3/8 inch from the flange. This makes it a practical choice for raw water intakes, drains, and other pipe-connected thru-hull applications where bronze hardware and proper bedding are part of the installation plan.
Key features
- Cast bronze construction for pipe-connected thru-hull installations in marine plumbing systems.
- Flange is machined to fit the hull and grooved to help hold bedding compound during installation.
- Threaded neck runs to approximately 3/8 inch from the flange for secure pipe connection.
- Available for 2 inch, 2-1/2 inch, and 3 inch pipe sizes to match different onboard plumbing layouts.
- Variant-specific mounting hole and hull thickness dimensions help confirm fit before cutting or replacing an existing fitting.
Variants
This thru-hull connection is offered in three pipe-size configurations. Each version uses the same Perko 0322 thru-hull connection style for use with pipe, while the pipe size, required mounting hole diameter, and maximum hull thickness change by variant.
The dimensions below are the key fit points to compare against the vessel before installation. Pipe size should match the connected plumbing, while the mounting hole diameter and maximum hull thickness determine whether the fitting suits the hull opening and laminate thickness.
- 0322009PLB: 2 inch pipe size, 2-3/8 inch mounting hole diameter, and 2-3/8 inch maximum hull thickness. This is the smallest configuration in this range and is suited to installations built around 2 inch pipe.
- 0322010PLB: 2-1/2 inch pipe size, 2-7/8 inch mounting hole diameter, and 2-5/8 inch maximum hull thickness. This size fits larger pipe runs while keeping the required hull opening under 3 inches.
- 0322011PLB: 3 inch pipe size, 3-1/2 inch mounting hole diameter, and 2-3/4 inch maximum hull thickness. This is the largest configuration listed here and should be matched carefully to the hull opening and connected pipe.
Installation and fit
Before installation, confirm the pipe size, hull thickness, and finished hole diameter against the selected variant. The fitting should be bedded properly against a clean hull surface so the grooved flange can help keep bedding compound in place as the fitting is seated.
Because this is a through-hull component, final installation should follow accepted marine plumbing practice for the vessel and the application. On existing boats, it is also worth checking the condition of the surrounding hull laminate, backing arrangement, and connected pipework before replacing the fitting.
Use cases on board
This fitting is a good match for boat owners, yards, and refit crews working with pipe-connected bronze thru-hull plumbing. It suits installations where the priority is matching the existing pipe size and hull opening with a cast bronze thru-hull connection rather than changing the plumbing layout.
