Overview

The Vimar Plana Series is a range of 1P 1-way switches rated at 10AX and 250V for flush-mounted control points in cabins, galleys, heads, and other protected interior spaces on board. The switch body is lightable, uses a replaceable button, and is available in 1-module and 2-module formats.

This range fits interior installations where you want a neat modular finish and straightforward switching without moving to exposed-deck hardware. The IP40 rating makes it suitable for dry interior locations rather than washdown areas, and the optional exchangeable LED helps with switch visibility in low light.

The body is made from halogen-free thermoplastic. White versions have a glossy untreated surface, while Silver versions use a glossy lacquered finish. Depending on terminal style, device depth is 38.4 mm on screwed-terminal versions or 42.1 mm on screwless push-in clamp versions.

Variants

The range changes in three practical ways: finish, module width, and terminal style. You can get it in White or Silver, in 1-module or 2-module format, and with either screwed terminals or screwless push-in clamp terminals.

Across the range, the switching function stays the same as a lightable 1P 1-way switch rated at 10AX and 250V with a replaceable button for Vimar Plana assemblies. Width changes with the module count, while rear clearance changes with the terminal type, so panel space and box depth are the main fit checks before ordering.

Installation and fit

This is a flush-mounted modular device, so it makes the most sense when the installation is built around a Vimar Plana frame and cover plate system. Check the module count required in the plate, then confirm the depth available behind the panel. The 1-module body is 22.3 mm wide, the 2-module body is 44.8 mm wide, and both versions are 49 mm high.

Screwed-terminal models sit shallower at 38.4 mm overall depth with 24.0 mm built-in depth. Screwless models use push-in clamp terminals and need more rear space at 42.1 mm overall depth with 27.7 mm built-in depth. That difference matters when the switch is going into slim bulkheads, liner panels, or furniture modules on board.

Use on board

This switch range suits interior lighting circuits and general switching points in protected spaces where a flush-mounted domestic-style finish is wanted, such as cabins, companionway panels, heads, or galley joinery. It is less suited to exposed helm positions, open cockpits, or washdown zones because the housing is rated IP40 rather than a sealed deck-grade level.

It also works well in refits that need the same switching function across different plate layouts, since the electrical rating stays consistent while color, module width, and terminal style can be matched to the rest of the installation.
