Overview
The Vimar VM02147 is an E14 Edison lampholder for portable installations and compact light fixtures where you need a threaded entry and a clean, finished look. It uses an M10 x 1 threaded fitting with a locking screw and measures about 2.8 x 5.7 x 2.8 cm, which helps when you are working inside tight housings on board.
The metal body uses a brass-colour finish with a zinc-plated polished steel dome and a threaded skirt, so it suits visible cabin areas like reading lights and small pendants while still holding up to everyday vibration and handling.
Key features
- E14 lampholder (small Edison screw) for E14-base bulbs commonly used in compact marine fixtures
- M10 x 1 threaded fitting with locking screw to keep the assembly from loosening under vibration
- Zinc-plated polished steel dome with threaded skirt for a neat mechanical finish during assembly
- Steel construction with a brass-colour finish for a classic look in cabins and covered interior spaces
- Compact size (about 2.8 x 5.7 x 2.8 cm) for tight lamp bodies and small shades
- Marked for CE and ENEC 11
Compatibility and fit
This lampholder is for E14 bulbs only. E14 bulbs are found in many European-style fixtures, including both shore-power AC lights and low-voltage onboard lights that use E14-base bulbs, so confirm the bulb type and voltage match your specific fixture and power system before installing.
The M10 x 1 threaded fitting is meant for mounting through a lamp body or bracket that accepts that thread size. If you are replacing an existing holder, check the thread standard on the old part and the available clearance for the dome and skirt.
Installation and setup
Install with power fully isolated and wire it using marine-appropriate practices for your system. On a boat, a solid mechanical mount and proper cable support matter as much as the electrical connection, so provide strain relief and keep the wiring protected from chafe and heat inside the fixture.
After assembly, use the locking screw to help the threaded connection stay tight over time, especially on planing hulls or anywhere the light sees frequent vibration.
Use on board
This style of lampholder is a good match for replacing worn holders in cabin reading lights, chart table lamps, berth lights, and small pendants where an E14 bulb is used and the fixture mounts through a threaded entry.
Maintenance and care
Periodically check for loosening and for any surface corrosion if the fixture lives in a damp area. If the installation is near salt spray, keeping the holder inside a protected light body and maintaining good seals around the fixture will help extend service life.
