Overview
The Vimar VM19008.0 is a 1-pole normally-open push button mechanism (momentary contact) rated 10 A at 250 V~ for the ARKÉ modular wiring system. It is the type of switch you press to send a brief signal to a relay, automation input, or control module, then it returns to its normal open position.
The mechanism is lightable and built for flush mounting behind an ARKÉ plate. Overall size is 22.30 mm wide by 49.00 mm high, with a 34.60 mm installation depth, and it is IP40, so it belongs in protected interior locations rather than exposed spray or washdown areas.
Key features
- 1P NO momentary action for control functions that need a short pulse rather than a maintained on-off state
- Electrical rating: 10 A, 250 V~
- Lightable mechanism for backlit or indicator-style installations when paired with the correct illumination accessory
- Modular format that is completed with a 1, 2, or 3-module ARKÉ button to match the plate layout on board
- Flush-mounted installation with snap-engage fastening
- Halogen-free thermoplastic body with untreated, matt surface finish
- IP40 protection; dimensions 22.30 x 49.00 x 34.60 mm (W x H x D)
- Blue mechanism body (RAL 7015)
Compatibility and fit
This is the mechanism only, meant to sit behind the visible ARKÉ button and faceplate. Plan the layout around the button size you are using (1, 2, or 3 modules) and confirm you have enough depth in the mounting box or console panel for the 34.60 mm body plus wiring clearance.
Electrical and system integration
On boats, a NO momentary push button is commonly used to trigger relay-controlled loads like lighting scenes, horns, door releases, or equipment controls where the real switching current is handled elsewhere. If you are using it in a 12 V or 24 V system, it is usually best practice to treat it as a control input for a relay, contactor, or electronic module and keep switching currents conservative for long-term reliability.
Protect the circuit with the appropriate fuse or breaker for the downstream wiring and load, and make sure connections at the rear terminals are tight and strain relieved so vibration does not work them loose over time.
Use cases on board
This mechanism is a good match for refits and new builds that already use Vimar ARKÉ plates and need a clean, flush push button for a brief control pulse at the helm, in the cabin, or at a service panel. It also suits multi-station setups where several momentary buttons feed the same relay or controller input.
