Overview
The Vimar VMV71573 is a multifunction accessory for installing Vimar 3-module boxes in hollow walls. It serves as a centering template for laying out the cutout and as a coupling joint for assembling horizontal or vertical multi-box banks.
On boats, it is most useful behind interior liners, bulkheads, and lightweight panels where you have access to the back side and want the finished plate to sit flush. Once the center grid is removed, the remaining frame can be used as a collar so the box can be secured from the inside and the opening stays neat.
Key features
- Made for Vimar 3-module hollow-wall boxes to keep module spacing and cutouts consistent
- Acts as a centering template before cutting the opening
- Joins boxes into horizontal or vertical banks using the slotted sides
- Converts into an inside collar by removing the center grid for back-side mounting
- Rigid plastic part that holds its shape while marking, aligning, and fastening
Compatibility and fit
This accessory is intended for Vimar 3-module boxes used in hollow walls and lightweight partitions. It is a mechanical aid for layout and mounting, and it does not change any electrical ratings of the devices installed in the box.
Confirm your panel construction supports the fixing method used on your installation, especially in areas subject to vibration. Typical onboard locations include cabin and head bulkheads, interior furniture panels, and console side panels where you want switchgear and outlets to sit square and flush.
Installation and setup
Position the accessory on the panel and use it to mark the cutout and centering points for your cutter or hole saw. After cutting, fit the box and, when mounting from the inside is preferred, remove the center grid with a utility knife or electrician scissors and use the remaining frame as a collar.
For multi-gang layouts, connect adjacent boxes using the joining slots, verify alignment, then fasten the boxes so the finished faceplates line up evenly.
Use cases on board
This is a practical choice for installers who need repeatable spacing when several devices share a cover plate, or when a retrofit needs accurate cutouts without widening the opening more than necessary.
