Overview

The Vimar Plana Series is a 1P normally closed cord-operated push button for flush-mounted installations where a pull cord is easier to reach than a standard face-operated switch. It is rated at 10 A and 250 V~, uses a 1.5 m cord, and has an IP40 housing for protected interior locations.

This is the kind of switch that makes sense in cabins, heads, lockers, and other sheltered onboard spaces where access matters and the control needs to stay easy to find. The body measures 22.30 mm wide, 49.00 mm high, and 35.20 mm deep, so it fits cleanly into compact interior panels while keeping the front neat and low-profile.

Its thermoplastic body is halogen-free, the surface is glossy, and the unit mounts built-in with snap fastening. Because it uses a normally closed contact, it should be matched to circuits that call for that contact logic rather than a standard normally open push button.

Variants

This product is offered in two finish configurations within the Plana range.

What changes between the variants is the visible finish and surface treatment. The electrical rating, 1.5 m cord, built-in snap mounting, IP40 protection, and overall dimensions remain the same across both versions.

• VM14053.SL: Silver finish with a lacquered surface, RAL 9006. This version suits interiors that already use silver trim or metallic-accent switchgear.
• VM14053: White finish with an untreated glossy surface, RAL 9003. This version keeps the look closer to standard white cabin panels and light-colored joinery.

Installation and fit

This push button belongs to the Vimar Plana system, so it should be installed with compatible Plana mounting and finishing components in that range. The built-in format helps it sit flush in the panel, while the snap fixing keeps installation straightforward in interior switch positions where space behind the panel is limited.

On a boat, it is better matched to protected areas inside the cabin than to exposed deck locations or washdown zones. The IP40 rating is suitable for interior use where the switch is not directly exposed to spray or heavy water intrusion.

Use on board

This is a practical match for boats that use household-style AC switching hardware in accommodation spaces and want pull-cord control for convenience. It works well where the user may be reaching from a bunk, standing in a head compartment, or accessing a light or circuit from a narrow passage rather than directly at the switch face.
