Overview
The Vimar VM08039 is a 2-pole, 1-way flush-mounted rocker switch rated 16 AX at 250 V~ with a provision for a signalling light. It is supplied without the signalling unit, so the illumination function is only used when the compatible indicator module is added.
This switch format is a good fit for onboard AC panels where you want to break both poles on a circuit and keep a clean, modular layout. It is rated up to 200 W for self-ballasted lamps and built around a 1-module device footprint.
With an IP40 rating, it belongs in dry, protected interior locations such as cabins, nav stations, or behind a helm console panel that stays out of spray. Overall size is 22.00 mm wide by 50.10 mm high, with a 42.00 mm device depth and 30.50 mm built-in depth behind the panel.
Key features
- 2-pole, 1-way switching for isolating both poles on an AC circuit
- 16 AX, 250 V~ rating with support up to 200 W for self-ballasted lamps
- Luminous version for a signalling unit; supplied without the signalling unit
- IP40 protection for interior panels where the switch is not exposed to washdowns
- Flush-mounted modular device (1 module) with snap-in fastening for panel assemblies
- Screw terminal connections for straightforward wiring in distribution and lighting panels
- Halogen-free thermoplastic body with an untreated matt finish in beige (RAL 9001 similar)
- Compact form factor: 22.00 mm width, 50.10 mm height, 42.00 mm depth, 30.50 mm built-in depth
Compatibility and fit
This is a 1-module device intended for Vimar 8000 Series modular installations. Match it with the correct mounting frames and cover plates for the 8000 system, and confirm there is at least 30.50 mm of clear depth behind the panel where it will sit.
Installation and wiring
Wiring is made at screw terminals. As a 2-pole switch, it is typically used where you want both conductors switched together, which is common on certain onboard AC loads and control circuits. Verify conductor size, overcurrent protection, and isolation procedures for your vessel before energizing the circuit.
On-board use
The optional indicator function is useful when you want a clear reference point at night, such as for a cabin lighting circuit, a nav station circuit group, or a dedicated AC accessory feed. It suits boats where the switching is inside a finished panel and protected from direct water contact.
Materials and finish
The body is halogen-free thermoplastic with a matt, untreated surface finish. The beige color is a close match to RAL 9001, which helps it blend into classic interior panels and wiring device layouts.
