Overview
The Garmin 010-12545-03 is a bail mount with knobs that lets you surface-mount a compatible GPSMAP 12x2 Series chartplotter on a console or dash and tilt it for a better viewing angle.
It is a good match for helms where you want the screen up off the panel for easier viewing and access, without committing to a flush cutout. The side knobs tighten by hand so the display stays put when the boat is running in chop, but can still be re-aimed when sun angle or seating position changes.
Key features
- Bracket-style bail mount for surface mounting GPSMAP 12x2 Series chartplotters
- Tilting cradle so the screen can be aimed toward the helm
- Hand knobs for tool-free angle adjustment and re-tightening after vibration
- Works well on a flat dash, electronics box, or overhead console where flush mounting is not practical
- Fit reference: commonly used with GPSMAP 1222, 1222xsv, and 1242xsv models
Compatibility and fit
This mount is intended for GPSMAP 12x2 units that use the side bail-mount points and the wider, non-touch chassis. If your chartplotter is labeled Touch or Plus, confirm the case width and mounting pattern before ordering, since those models use different mounting options.
Plan for clearance so the unit can tilt without hitting the dash, grab rails, or a windshield frame, and leave space behind the display for power, network, and transducer connectors.
Installation and setup
Mount the bracket to a solid, flat surface and through-bolt when possible. On thin panels or cored fiberglass, use a backing plate or large washers so the mount stays tight over time.
Seal any new holes to keep water out of the console, and route cables with a drip loop so spray and washdowns do not run straight into the connectors.
Use on board
This is a practical choice for a center console, pilothouse dash, or sailboat nav station where the display needs to be angled for a seated and standing view. It also helps when more than one person shares the screen and you want quick angle changes without tools.
Maintenance and care
Rinse salt and grit off the knobs and hinge points as part of normal washdown, then re-tighten the knobs before getting underway. Periodically check the fasteners and mounting surface for looseness, especially after trailering or long runs in rough water.
