Overview

The Hella Marine 003562005 is a 12V incandescent masthead navigation lamp with 2 nautical mile visibility and a black housing. It uses a 12V / 10W SV8.5 bulb (included) and carries an IP54 rating for protection against dust and splashing water. Housing and lens are UV and impact-resistant plastic, which helps it handle sun exposure and the bumps that happen around rigging and hardware.

The snap-lock housing opens without tools, which keeps bulb changes straightforward when you are troubleshooting at the dock or swapping a spare before a night run. The lens is white, and the unit is non-magnetic, which is helpful when mounted near sensitive instruments.

Installation and wiring

This light mounts to a vertical surface. Plan the install so the cable can pass through the base plate cleanly, and make sure the rubber grommet seats fully to reduce water entry at the cable point. Use tinned marine wire and protected connections, especially when the run is exposed to spray and vibration.

It is intended for 12V DC systems. On 24V boats, a suitable DC-DC converter or a 24V-rated navigation light is typically required.

Use on board

This is a practical match for boats that are keeping an incandescent navigation light setup for simple spares and straightforward troubleshooting. Maintenance and care
