Overview

The Victron Energy SCC900650010 is a SmartSolar Control pluggable LCD display for compatible Victron MPPT solar charge controllers with a front display port. It gives a direct view of charging information at the controller, which is useful on boats where the solar charger is mounted in an electrical locker, cabin panel, lazarette, or other service area and a quick local check is easier than opening an app.

This display inserts into the display port on the front of the solar charger and is suitable for Victron Energy 150V and 250V BlueSolar and SmartSolar MPPT solar chargers that are equipped with that display port. The unit measures 116 mm x 50 mm x 25 mm and weighs 66 g, so it adds a small local interface without changing the basic charger installation.

Installation and setup

The display connects directly to the display terminal on the front of the solar charger. Installation involves removing the two screws from the plastic display-option cover, taking off the cover, removing the plastic plugs beside the display plug, peeling the backing from the tape on the display, inserting the display fully into the connector, and securing it with the cover screws.

Because the display sits on the charger itself, the solar controller should be installed where the screen can be seen and the buttons can be reached. For marine systems, that usually means a dry electrical area with enough clearance around the charger for cooling, wiring service, and routine inspection.

Compatibility and fit

This display is for Victron 150V and 250V BlueSolar and SmartSolar MPPT solar chargers that include the front display port. It is not a universal battery monitor, remote display, or NMEA display, and it should not be selected for chargers that do not have the required display-option connection on the front of the unit.

For a boat owner or installer, the key fit check is the charger face. If the controller has the removable plastic cover marked for the display option, this display gives a clean local interface for checking solar production, battery charging behavior, and fault messages during commissioning or day-to-day use.

Use on board

On a cruising sailboat, fishing boat, or off-grid marine power setup, this display is a practical match for systems where solar charging is part of the house battery routine. It helps confirm whether the array is producing power, what charge stage the controller is in, and whether the charger is reporting a warning or error.

It is especially helpful when the charge controller is easy to access but the owner still wants a built-in readout at the equipment location. For installations that need monitoring from another cabin, helm, or nav station, a separate remote monitoring approach should be considered instead.
