Overview
The B&G Zeus 3S is a multi-function sailing display that puts charts, navigation, and sailing data on a single helm screen. It is available in 9 inch, 12 inch, and 16 inch sizes, and it runs on 10 to 31.2 V DC for typical 12 V and 24 V systems.
Its SolarMAX HD IPS screen is rated at 1200 nits for daylight readability, including when you are wearing polarized sunglasses. For real on-deck use, you can work from the touchscreen, or fall back to the rotary dial and keypad when spray, rain, or gloves make touch control less convenient.
For system integration, it supports NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 and ties into common B&G modules and networks, including H5000 instruments, autopilot control, ForwardScan, and compatible HALO radar systems. Sailing views like SailSteer, RacePanel, Start Line, LayLines, SailingTime, and PredictWind integration help keep trim and tactics in view without bouncing between multiple pages.

Variants
This display is offered in multiple configurations based on screen size and radar option.
Screen size is the main difference between these configurations, affecting how much chart and sailing information you can keep visible at once. Variants listed with a HALO20+ option are intended for helm setups that include a HALO20+ radar.
- 000-15410-001: Screen size 16 inch; radar options none. The larger screen supports comfortable split views at a primary helm station.
- 000-15408-001: Screen size 9 inch; radar options none. The compact size fits well on tighter pedestals, pods, or as a secondary display.
- 000-15409-002: Screen size 12 inch; radar options none. A middle size that balances map detail with a reasonable helm footprint.
- 000-15561-001: Screen size 9 inch; radar options HALO20+. This option pairs a compact display size with the HALO20+ radar configuration for radar-capable installs.
- 000-15562-002: Screen size 12 inch; radar options HALO20+. This option pairs the 12 inch display size with the HALO20+ radar configuration for radar-capable installs.
Installation and helm fit
Plan the mounting location so the screen is easy to see from your normal steering position and the keypad and rotary control are easy to reach. Leave enough clearance behind the unit for power, network connections, and routing cables without sharp bends.
The high screen brightness and water resistance rating make it a practical choice for open cockpits, but it still benefits from sensible placement away from direct impacts and constant pooling spray.
Electrical and system integration
Power the unit from a 10 to 31.2 V DC supply using proper circuit protection and clean wiring practices suited to marine electronics. Keeping connections dry, strain relieved, and well supported helps in high vibration areas.
On the data side, NMEA 2000 is the common path for instruments and sensors, while NMEA 0183 support helps when you are bridging to older talkers. When the rest of the boat is built around B&G instruments, autopilot, ForwardScan, and radar, this display can act as the main control and information hub at the helm.
Use on board
This is a good match for sailors who want one helm display that can handle charting and also present sailing-specific screens during maneuvers, sail changes, and starts. It fits both coastal cruising and racing programs where quick access to laylines, start line data, and steering cues matters.
If you are planning to add radar, the HALO20+ variants align with helm setups where radar is part of the navigation picture for night running, fog, or busy waterways.
