Overview
The B&G 000-14476-001 is a wireless handset that pairs with a B&G V60 fixed-mount VHF radio so you can control key radio functions away from the main set. It works over a wireless range up to 100 metres (line of sight), carries an IPX7 waterproof rating for use around spray, and runs up to 8 hours on a full charge.
The handset charges on an inductive cradle, so there are no exposed charging contacts to corrode. On boats where the V60 is mounted at the chart table or inside the cabin, the H60 gives you a second station feel at the helm, in the cockpit, or on the flybridge. A V60 can be paired with up to two H60 handsets, which also allows onboard intercom communication between stations.
Key features
- Wireless handset for B&G V60 fixed-mount VHF radios
- Replicates the V60 display and primary controls for remote operation around the boat
- Wireless range up to 100 metres from the base station (line of sight)
- IPX7 waterproof rating for rain, spray, and washdowns
- Inductive charging on the cradle with no exposed charging contacts
- Up to 8 hours of battery life on a full charge
- Pairs up to two handsets to one V60, enabling onboard intercom when multiple handsets are used
Compatibility and fit
This handset is an accessory for the B&G V60 VHF radio and does not operate as a standalone handheld VHF. Confirm you have a V60 base station installed on board and that you have room to mount the charging cradle where the handset can be stored between uses.
Installation and setup
Initial setup involves pairing the handset to the V60 so it can connect and reconnect reliably on board. Mount the cradle where it is protected from constant soaking but still convenient for day-to-day use, such as near the helm, the companionway, or a nav station, and keep the handset seated on the cradle when not in use so it stays charged.
Use on board
The H60 is a good match for sailboats where the V60 is installed below and the watch is often in the cockpit, and for powerboats where you move between the main helm and aft deck. It also helps when crew need to coordinate docking or anchoring, since the handset can be carried while still keeping access to the radio’s main functions.
Maintenance and care
After heavy spray or salt exposure, rinse the handset with fresh water and let it dry before placing it back on the cradle. Keep the cradle area clean so the handset seats properly for charging, and store the handset where it will not be left in direct sun for long periods when the boat is not in use.
