Overview
The Simrad 000-14924-001 is a 10 m (33 ft) VHF fist mic and handset extension cable. It is used with Simrad RS40 and RS40-B, B&G V60 and V60-B, and Lowrance Link-9 setups that support the matching VHF fist mic plus H100 or HS100 handsets.
It is the cable you reach for when the radio needs to live inside a console, hardtop box, or electronics locker but the mic or handset needs to reach the helm, cockpit, or a second station. It extends only the fist mic or handset lead, not VHF antenna coax and not any NMEA network cabling.
Key features
- 10 m (33 ft) length for longer routing between the VHF radio body and the remote mic or handset
- Compatible with Simrad RS40 and RS40-B VHF radios
- Also used with B&G V60 and V60-B and Lowrance Link-9 fist mic systems
- Supports H100 and HS100 handsets used on the same platform
- Helps keep the microphone where you can reach it while the radio stays mounted out of spray and accidental bumps
Compatibility and fit
This extension is specific to the fist mic and handset connection on the supported VHF radios. Confirm your radio model and the accessory you are extending (fist mic, H100 handset, or HS100 handset) before ordering, since VHF accessories are not universal across different series.
Installation and routing
Before you pull the old lead, map the route and measure it in the boat, including bends and service slack behind the mounting panels. Route the cable where it will not chafe on fiberglass edges or get pinched by a steering tube or seat base, and secure it so vibration does not work it loose over time.
Keep connection points where they are protected from standing water and direct washdowns, and leave enough slack to remove the radio or handset mount for service without yanking the cable.
Use on board
This is a practical add-on for center consoles, pilothouses, and sailboats where the VHF is mounted inside the dash but you want the mic or handset at the helm or nearer to the cockpit. It also makes sense on boats with a secondary steering position where the extra reach keeps the VHF within easy grab distance when docking or maneuvering.
