Overview
The Lopolight 200-016 Series is a 2 NM, 180° red navigation light for vertical mounting, with versions that come pre-cabled in 6 m or 20 m lengths. It runs on 10-32 VDC, which fits typical 12 V and 24 V DC systems, and it is specified for vessels up to 50 m (164 ft).
The housing is IP68 rated and the electronics are fully potted, which helps when the fixture lives out in spray, washdowns, and constant vibration. Finish options are available in silver or black anodized aluminum.
Key features
- 2 NM visibility with a 180° red sector
- Vertical mount format for mounting on a cabin side, bulwark, or other upright surface
- 10-32 VDC input range for common 12 V and 24 V DC electrical systems
- IP68-rated housing with fully potted electronics for wet installations and vibration
- Aluminum housing with 25 micron anodizing (silver or black) and a PMMA lens
- Approvals listed to COLREG72 and EN14744, with additional listings that include IEC 60945 and IACS E10
Variants
This series is offered in multiple configurations to match your mounting layout and cable run.
Options vary by housing finish (silver or black anodized), light format (single stack or double stack), and cable length (6 m or 20 m). All configurations keep the same basic function as a vertical-mount, 2 NM, 180° red navigation light.
What’s included
- Navigation light assembly with pre-attached cable (length depends on variant)
- Installation guide
Installation and setup
Plan the mounting position so the fixture has a clear line of sight across its 180° sector and is not shadowed by rails, davits, or deck hardware. On many boats this style is mounted on the superstructure side, pilothouse face, or a similar vertical surface where the light can sit cleanly and remain easy to inspect.
Route the cable into a protected area, add chafe protection at pass-throughs, and leave a drip loop before the cable enters the interior. If the light is placed where it will see regular deck wash, sealing the cable entry and fastener penetrations pays off long term.
Electrical and system integration
The wide 10-32 VDC input range makes the light a straightforward fit on both 12 V and 24 V systems. The pre-cabled lead helps when the switch panel, breaker location, or central lighting point is far from the mounting site, especially on larger hulls.
As with any navigation light circuit, tie the supply into a properly protected circuit and keep connections in dry, serviceable locations where possible. If your vessel uses a Lopolight navigation light control and monitoring setup, this style is intended to integrate with that system.
Materials and corrosion resistance
The anodized aluminum housing and A4 stainless fasteners suit exposed topside mounting, and the PMMA lens handles sun and weather well. The fully potted internal construction reduces the risk of moisture intrusion and helps the light tolerate pounding and vibration.
For saltwater boats, a quick freshwater rinse after heavy spray or washdowns helps keep salt from building up around the lens edge and fasteners.
Use cases on board
This series fits installations where you need a certified 2 NM red light with a 180° sector on a vertical surface and want a longer factory cable to reach a helm switch, electrical panel, or central controller without splices in wet areas.
It is a good match for refits on cruising boats and larger yachts up to 50 m that are cleaning up navigation lighting runs, updating older fixtures, or standardizing hardware finish across the superstructure.
