Overview
The Garmin 010-10806-30 is a rechargeable Li-ion battery pack for the DC 50 dog tracking collar, rated at 3.7 V DC. It brings a collar back into service when the original pack will not hold a charge, and it also works well as a charged spare for long days away from the dock.
This pack is for the collar itself and is used with Astro tracking setups that run DC 50 collars. If you are troubleshooting power issues on the handheld, this is not the battery for that part of the system.
Key features
- Replacement or spare Li-ion battery pack for Garmin DC 50 dog tracking collars
- 3.7 V DC battery pack for the collar power system
- Supports Astro tracking setups that use DC 50 collars by keeping the collar powered
- Swappable pack so you can rotate batteries between outings instead of waiting on a full recharge
- Practical backup to keep on board for multi-day trips, shore runs, and long fishing days
Compatibility and fit
Compatible with the Garmin DC 50 dog tracking collar. It is commonly paired with Garmin Astro handheld tracking systems, but the battery installs in the collar, not the handheld.
Installation and charging
Install the pack with the collar powered off and fully dry. Open the battery compartment, replace the pack, and reseal the cover carefully so the compartment stays protected from spray and washdowns.
After installation, charge the collar using the same DC 50 charging accessories you already use. On a boat, a stable 12V outlet with the appropriate adapter can keep your charger running without relying on shore power.
Use on board
This is a solid match for boaters who run dogs on beaches, marsh edges, or around the cockpit and still want dependable collar tracking through a full day. Keeping a second pack charged helps avoid dead-collar surprises when you are anchored out or running between spots.
Storage and care
Keep the collar and your hands dry before opening the battery compartment, especially after exposure to salt spray. Store a spare pack in a cool, dry place out of direct sun, and avoid leaving it in a hot cabin or closed console for extended periods.
