Overview
The Garmin 010-10854-21 is a charging clip that attaches to the Garmin DC 40 dog tracking collar for recharging. It is the collar-side piece that snaps onto the charging contacts and connects to a compatible Garmin vehicle power cable or AC adapter, which are sold separately.
If you keep a DC 40 collar on board for dockside runs, island hikes, or trips that mix land and water, this clip makes it easy to top off the collar between outings without improvising a connection. It stays small in a spares kit and adds very little weight, at about 0.1 lb.
Before ordering, confirm your collar model is DC 40, since this clip is made for that receiver and is not a charger for an Astro handheld.
Key features
- Made specifically for the Garmin DC 40 dog tracking collar used with Astro systems
- Clip-style connection that mates to the collar’s charging contacts for consistent charging
- Interfaces with a compatible Garmin vehicle power cable or AC adapter (sold separately)
- Small, lightweight accessory that is easy to keep as a spare onboard
- Useful as a replacement clip when the original is lost, damaged, or kept with another charging station
What’s included
- Charging clip
Compatibility and fit
This charging clip is for the Garmin DC 40 collar. It does not replace the charging cable or power adapter, and it is not intended to charge other Garmin collars or any handheld GPS device.
Charging and onboard use
Align the clip with the collar’s charging contacts and press it into place so it seats flat. Connect the clip to your compatible vehicle power cable or AC adapter, then charge the collar in a dry area out of spray and salt mist. Avoid charging where the strap can tug on the connection.
Maintenance and care
If the collar or clip gets exposed to saltwater, rinse with fresh water and let everything dry fully before charging. Keep the contacts clean and free of grime so the clip seats properly and charging stays consistent.
Who it fits
This is a practical spare for boaters, guides, and working dog handlers who rely on a DC 40 collar and want a backup charging clip in the electronics drawer or trip kit to keep the collar powered between runs.
