Overview
The Garmin Navionics U.S. East electronic chart is a regional chart package for compatible Garmin chartplotters that covers U.S. East coastal waters plus inland lakes and rivers. It is offered in Garmin Navionics+ and Garmin Navionics Vision+ versions, and it comes either on microSD/SD media or as a download. Both include detailed nautical charts and SonarChart HD bathymetry with up to 1 ft (0.5 m) contours.
A one-year subscription is included for daily updates and downloadable content through ActiveCaptain. Features such as depth range shading, shallow water shading, and Auto Guidance+ route guidance are built around real-world cruising and fishing use, but route guidance is for planning only and does not replace safe navigation.
The Vision+ version adds extra visual layers in areas where they are available, including high-resolution relief shading, high-resolution satellite imagery, aerial photos, sonar imagery, side scan images, and 3D MarinerEye and FishEye views.
Key features
- Covers the U.S. East region (NVUS007R / NSUS007R) for coastal waters, lakes, and rivers on compatible Garmin chartplotters
- SonarChart HD bathymetry with up to 1 ft (0.5 m) contours for bottom detail that helps with route planning and fishing structure
- Depth range shading with up to 10 selectable depth ranges, plus shallow water shading for a clearer picture of shoals and skinny water
- Auto Guidance+ dock-to-dock route guidance support (planning only; always navigate by sight, instruments, and local conditions)
- One-year subscription included for daily updates and downloadable layers through ActiveCaptain; renewals extend access to new downloads
- Vision+ adds premium layers where available, including relief shading, satellite imagery, sonar imagery, aerial photos, side scan images, and 3D views
Variants
This chart is offered in multiple configurations for the same U.S. East coverage area, with options for chart version and delivery format.
What changes between options is the chart level (Garmin Navionics+ versus Garmin Navionics Vision+) and how you receive it (microSD/SD card versus download). All options include a one-year subscription period for daily updates and downloadable content.
- 010-C1291-00 / Version Garmin Navionics Vision+ / Format microSD/SD. The chart data is supplied on removable media for chartplotters with a card slot.
- 010-D1893-00 / Version Garmin Navionics Vision+ / Format Download. The chart is delivered electronically for loading and updating through the supported Garmin update workflow for your system.
- 010-C1291-20 / Version Garmin Navionics+ / Format microSD/SD. The standard chart package for the region on removable media, with subscription-based updates.
- 010-D1893-20 / Version Garmin Navionics+ / Format Download. The standard chart package delivered electronically, with the same subscription model for updates and downloads.
Coverage and fit
U.S. East coverage includes the lakes, rivers, and coasts of Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, and West Virginia, plus Bermuda.
This is chart content, not hardware, so there is no voltage or wiring consideration. The key fit check is chartplotter compatibility with Garmin Navionics+ and Garmin Navionics Vision+ chart formats, along with access to ActiveCaptain if you plan to use daily updates and downloadable layers.
Updates and premium content
Daily updates and additional layers are accessed during the included one-year subscription period. After the subscription expires, charts and layers already loaded remain available on your system, but you cannot download additional content until the subscription is renewed.
Premium layers on Vision+ such as relief shading, satellite imagery, and 3D views are downloaded where offered for the coverage area and may depend on chartplotter model and settings. Raster chart layers are also available through the same subscription ecosystem and are supported on specific chartplotter families.
Installation and setup
For microSD/SD versions, insert the card into the chartplotter card slot and allow the unit time to index the chart data, especially after first install or after large updates. For download versions, load the chart to your compatible Garmin system using the supported update tools, then keep your chartplotter software current so the latest layers and shading options display correctly.
If you use Auto Guidance+ for planning, set up your vessel-related preferences in the chartplotter so suggested routes reflect how you run your boat. Always verify routes against local notices, buoyage, tides, and real-time conditions.
Who it suits
This chart package fits owners running the U.S. East coast, the Intracoastal, and connected inland waters who want one coverage area that follows them from offshore approaches to rivers and lakes. It also suits anglers who rely on contour detail, depth shading, and community-driven chart edits to refine spots and avoid shallow surprises.
