Compatibility and fit

Chart and feature support depends on the model and software running on your plotter, so it matters to confirm that your unit accepts BlueChart g3 format before purchasing.

If your system is built around newer cartography formats that do not accept BlueChart g3, this chart will not load. That check is especially important on late-model plotters that ship with different built-in mapping families.

Installation and setup

For SD card versions, insert the card into the chartplotter’s card slot and select the chart from the map options. Keep the card in the unit while navigating, since the chart data is read from the card.

For download versions, you install the chart to a microSD/SD card using Garmin Express on a computer with a card reader, then move that card to the chartplotter. Only one marine chart should be installed per card, so plan a dedicated card if you rotate regions.
