Overview

The Simrad 000-15687-001 is a surface mount kit for the HS75 GNSS compass that lets you install the sensor on a flat mounting surface instead of a pole.

It includes two adapter styles: a low-profile mount where the cable exits through the mounting surface, and a high-profile mount where the cable exits above the surface. That gives you a clean through-deck cable route when you can drill a pass-through, or an above-deck route when you prefer to avoid a cable hole in the mounting surface.

With the adapter installed, the HS75 locks into place with latches, so it stays put in vibration but can still be removed for access by releasing the clips.

Installation and setup

Pick a spot with a clear view of the sky and enough flat area for the HS75 footprint. On most boats this ends up on a hardtop, cabin roof, flybridge, or a flat section of deck that stays out of the way of foot traffic.

For the low-profile mount, plan for a cable pass-through and seal the opening properly for washdowns and rain. For the high-profile mount, the cable exits above the surface so it can be routed to a nearby gland or chase without drilling a larger cable hole through the mounting surface.

Compatibility and fit

This kit is intended for the Simrad HS75 GNSS compass. It is a mounting accessory only and does not include the HS75 sensor or network cabling.

If your boat is already set up with a powered NMEA 2000 network for the HS75, this kit simply changes the way the sensor is physically mounted and how the cable is managed at the mounting point.
