Overview

The Simrad 000-16222-001 is a rear-mount kit for installing an NSX3015UW 15-inch ultrawide display from behind the helm panel so the screen sits flush and the bezel stays close to the dash.

It uses mounting brackets, threaded studs, and thumb nuts to clamp the display to the panel, which helps keep the unit steady when the boat is working in chop or running offshore. A foam gasket sits between the display and the dash to cushion the fit and clean up the cutout edge.

This is mounting hardware only. It does not change power, networking, or transducer connections on the display.

Installation and setup

Rear mounting is typically done after the helm cutout is prepared for the NSX3015UW. Fit the foam gasket, position the display in the opening from the front, then secure it from behind with the brackets, studs, and thumb nuts. Leave enough clearance behind the panel for the connector plugs and cable bend radius so wiring is not forced tight against the case.

On open consoles, sealing raw edges on fiberglass or wood cutouts and adding strain relief to cables helps keep moisture out of the core and reduces intermittent issues caused by vibration.

Compatibility and fit

This kit is for the NSX3015UW only. Confirm the exact model on the display before ordering, since other NSX sizes use different mounting parts.

Rear mounting works best when you can reach the back of the helm for tightening and for future service. If dash space is tight, check clearance around steering supports, wiring looms, and ducting before committing to the cutout.

Use on board

It suits builds where you want the screen close to the panel, such as a fishing center console that gets regular spray, or a sailboat nav station where space is tight. A flush mount also keeps the front of the helm clear for nearby switches, instruments, and autopilot controls.

Maintenance and care

After the first few trips, re-check the thumb nuts for snug fit and inspect the gasket line around the bezel. A quick look during seasonal maintenance helps catch loosening from vibration before it becomes a rattle.
