Overview
The Garmin 010-02366-80 is a GPSMAP 943xsv chartplotter and fishfinder bundle that includes a GMR 18 HD+ 18-inch radar dome for a connected helm.
At the dash you get a 9.0-inch in-plane switching (IPS) touchscreen with 1280 x 720 resolution, built-in Ultra High-Definition SideVü and ClearVü scanning sonar, and support for 1 kW CHIRP traditional sonar (transducer required and sold separately). The display powers from 10 to 32 Vdc, carries an IPX7 water rating, and uses a 6 A fast-acting fuse in the power lead.
Mapping is built in with Garmin Navionics+ coastal and inland coverage and Auto Guidance+. A 1-year subscription is included for downloadable daily updates, and the map card ships preinstalled so you can power up and start running routes without loading charts first.
Key features
- 9.0-inch IPS touchscreen with 1280 x 720 resolution for split-screen charts, sonar, and radar views.
- Built-in Ultra High-Definition SideVü and ClearVü scanning sonar, plus support for 1 kW CHIRP traditional sonar (transducer sold separately).
- 10 to 32 Vdc input on the chartplotter with a 6 A fast-acting fuse and an IPX7 water rating for typical helm exposure.
- Garmin Navionics+ coastal and inland mapping with Auto Guidance+ and a 1-year subscription for downloadable daily updates (map card preinstalled).
- Garmin Marine Network port for connecting the included radar and sharing data with other compatible Garmin displays.
- NMEA 2000 support for sensors and instruments, with a T-connector and drop cable included to get onto an existing backbone.
- NMEA 0183 and J1939 support for tying into legacy data and many engine networks when the boat is already wired that way.
- Included GMR 18 HD+ radome radar with 4 kW transmit power, 36 nm maximum range, and 24 RPM rotation speed.
- Radar power range of 11 to 35 V DC and 15 m (49.21 ft) power and network cables included for clean routing to an arch, hardtop, or mast.
Installation and setup
The GPSMAP 943xsv can be bail mounted or flush mounted using the included hardware and gasket. Plan your dash layout so you have room for cable bends behind the unit and access to the rear connectors before you tighten everything down.
The chartplotter has two microSD card slots on the back (32 GB max per slot). If you will not have access to the back of the unit after flush mounting, install any microSD cards and connect cables before final placement.
Electrical and system integration
Power the chartplotter from your 12V or 24V DC system (10 to 32 Vdc input). The GMR 18 HD+ radar is powered separately (11 to 35 V DC), which helps keep radar load off the MFD feed.
For networking, NMEA 2000 is the cleanest path for shared sensors and instrument data, while NMEA 0183 stays useful for older VHF, AIS, and legacy devices. The Garmin Marine Network connection is what carries radar data and other high-bandwidth sharing between compatible Garmin gear.
Sonar and transducer notes
This unit has a 12-pin transducer port and built-in sonar processing for UHD scanning and CHIRP traditional sonar, but it still needs the right transducer in the water. If you are reusing an existing 8-pin transducer, the included adapter makes the connection straightforward when the transducer and sonar features match what you want to run.
Radar on board
The included 18-inch dome radar adds another layer of awareness when you are running in fog, picking through traffic around an inlet, or keeping an eye on squalls building offshore. It supports radar overlay on the chart page so targets line up with charted features and your plotted course.
MARPA target tracking is supported when the system is receiving heading data from a compatible heading sensor (sold separately). This bundle fits boats that want charting, sonar, and radar in one helm setup without moving up to a larger open-array radar.
