Overview
The Raymarine A80581 is a portable ice fishing kit for Element 7 HV fish finder displays, built around a waterproof bag, a 12 V 7 Ah rechargeable battery, and a CPT-S high-frequency CHIRP ice transducer with float. It gives Element users a ready-to-carry setup for fishing through the ice, with sonar coverage from about 2 ft to 900 ft depending on water conditions and a 2.5 m transducer cable with a 15-pin HV connector.
The bag has an easy-stay-open front for viewing the screen while fishing, plus room for tackle and rods. The display is sold separately, so this kit makes the most sense for anglers who already own an Element 7 HV and want to move it from boat use to a portable ice setup without piecing the system together item by item.
Key features
- Built for Raymarine Element 7 HV displays with pre-drilled mounting provisions on the base
- CPT-S ice transducer uses high-frequency CHIRP sonar and reads from about 0.6 m to 274 m in suitable conditions
- Transducer has an IPx8 waterproof rating and a 2.5 m cable with a 15-pin HV connector
- Includes a 12 V 7 Ah sealed rechargeable battery and charger with US, UK, and EU plug adaptors
- Waterproof carry bag includes cargo pockets and integrated rod holders for a more self-contained setup on the ice
Compatibility and fit
This kit is intended for the Element 7 HV series. The included base is laid out for that display family, and the supplied CPT-S transducer uses the HV-style connector used with Element HV units. The display itself is not included.
The bag measures about 290 x 270 x 290 mm, which keeps the setup compact enough to carry while still leaving room for tackle and small accessories. The base includes an integrated handle. The Element mounting bracket is not included, so buyers should confirm they already have the display hardware needed for transfer and setup.
Power and charging
The battery is a sealed valve-regulated lead-acid unit rated at 7.0 Ah and 12 V dc. In moderate conditions with a new battery, typical run time is about 8 hours at 50% display brightness or about 3.5 hours at full brightness. Cold weather will reduce runtime, which is worth factoring in for long days on the ice.
The charger accepts 100 to 240 V ac input at 50 or 60 Hz and outputs 14.5 V dc at 1 A. It is suitable for indoor use only, which matters if you charge gear in a garage, workshop, or cabin before heading out.
Use on the ice
This setup works well for anglers who move between holes and want their sonar, battery, transducer, and small gear in one package. The bag door stays open for screen access, and the float helps keep the transducer positioned for vertical presentation over the hole.
It is a sensible match for Element 7 HV owners who fish open water in one season and ice in another, and who want one display to cover both jobs with minimal changeover.
