Overview

The Vimar Idea 16025 is a family of luminous 1P 16 AX 250 V two-way rocker switches for flush-mounted modular installations. It lets one circuit be controlled from two positions, which is useful on board when the same lighting or accessory circuit needs switching from both ends of a cabin, companionway, or protected interior passage. The range uses screw terminals, carries an IP40 rating, and is rated for loads up to 200 W with self-ballasted lamps.

Across the range, the switch body is halogen-free thermoplastic with a matte finish in gray or ivory depending on variant. Each version is a snap-in modular insert with one rocker and a label space, and it accepts an exchangeable LED signalling unit for control or orientation lighting. The signalling unit is not included. Width changes with module size: 24.8 mm for 1-module versions and 48.8 mm for 2-module versions, while height is 50.1 mm, depth is 36.5 mm, and built-in depth is 23.3 mm.

Variants

This product is offered in four configurations that change the visible color and the module width.

Across these variants, the switching function stays the same: 1P 16 AX 250 V two-way operation, IP40 protection, screw terminals, one rocker, and support for an exchangeable LED signalling unit that is supplied separately.

• VM16025.M: Gray, 2 Module. This version uses the wider 2-module body for panels laid out around a 2-module opening.
• VM16025.M.B: Ivory, 2 Module. It keeps the same 2-module footprint with a lighter face color for interiors finished in ivory-toned trim.
• VM16025: Gray, 1 Module. This is the compact 1-module format for layouts based on single-module positions or tighter panel spacing.
• VM16025.B: Ivory, 1 Module. It keeps the compact 1-module footprint with the lighter ivory finish.

Compatibility and fit

This switch is a modular insert from the Idea line, so the main fit checks are the module count, the available space behind the mounting point, and whether the location stays dry. Both sizes share a built-in depth of 23.3 mm and a total depth of 36.5 mm. No mounting plate is included.

The luminous function depends on a separate signalling unit, so that part needs to be added if locator or control lighting is required at the switch point.

Use on board

This range works well for interior switching points on sailboats, motorboats, and yachts where the installation is protected from direct water exposure. It makes sense for cabin lighting and other interior circuits that need switching from two positions, especially in enclosed helm areas, cabins, and passageways.

It is a good match for refits and new interior panels that already use, or are being built around, Vimar Idea modular hardware and need a clean flush-mounted switch body in either a 1-module or 2-module size.
