Overview
The Garmin 010-11617-54 is a 30 ft 8-pin heavy duty transducer extension cable for adding length between a compatible 8-pin Garmin transducer and your sonar connection point.
It is used when the standard transducer lead comes up short, such as on center consoles with long rigging runs, pilothouse boats where the display is forward, or installs that route through a tower, rigging tube, or under-deck chase. You keep the connection intact end-to-end instead of cutting and splicing the transducer cable.
Key features
- Adds 30 ft of length to a compatible 8-pin transducer cable run.
- 8-pin connections on both ends to extend the existing plug connection without splicing.
- Heavy duty cable build that suits routing through rigging tubes and tight chases where abrasion and vibration are common.
- Helps simplify clean installs on larger boats where the transducer is far from the helm electronics.
Compatibility and fit
This cable is for Garmin transducers that use an 8-pin connector. Before ordering, confirm both ends of your existing setup match the 8-pin style and that you have enough overall length for the planned route, including service slack at the display and at the transducer end.
Installation and setup
Route the cable where it will not be pinched by hatches, seat bases, or deck hardware, and avoid tight bends near the connectors. Support the run with clamps or cable ties so the connectors are not carrying the load, and keep the connection point accessible for future service.
When joining the connectors, fully seat the plug and hand-tighten any locking ring if your connector style uses one. On open boats, place the connection in a protected area to reduce direct spray and standing water.
Use on board
This extension is a good match for anglers and cruisers who are re-locating a transducer, upgrading electronics, or tidying up a long cable run without changing the transducer itself. It is also useful when adding a bit of extra reach for clean routing around fuel tanks, rigging tubes, and bulkheads.
Maintenance and care
Check the connection periodically, especially after trailering or heavy pounding, and make sure the connectors stay clean and fully seated. If the cable is disconnected for service, keep the ends protected from grit and moisture until it is reconnected.
