Overview
The Lumitec 101873 is a Pico C4-MAX expansion module that adds control for third-party RGB or RGBW lighting to a Poco-based system, or to a simple on/off switch using Timed Toggled Protocol (TTP). It runs on 10vDC to 30vDC and carries an IP67 rating for washdown-prone marine installs.
With up to 10A per channel available, it is a practical way to bring strip lighting, accent zones, and lighted speaker rings under the same color and dimming behavior as the rest of your onboard lighting. The compact housing measures about 3.5 in x 3.1 in x 0.88 in, which helps when you are tucking it into a console, cabinet, or electrical locker.
Key features
- Controls third-party RGB or RGBW lighting accessories through Poco control or TTP switch control
- 10vDC to 30vDC input for common 12V and 24V boat systems
- Up to 10A per channel capacity for higher-draw accent and strip light zones
- IP67-rated enclosure for better protection against water ingress and dust
- 5-wire RGBW output layout with a dedicated RGBW-only negative lead when used with RGBW loads
- Status indicator provides quick feedback for power, output on/off, PLI messages, and fault conditions
- Rated operating temperature from -31F (-35C) to 131F (55C)
Compatibility and fit
This module is meant for constant-voltage RGB or RGBW accessories that do not have Lumitec PLI built in. It uses a common positive output with separate negative outputs for color channels, which matches the wiring style found on many marine RGB/RGBW strip and accent products. Confirm your accessory wiring and total current draw so each channel stays within its 10A limit.
Installation and setup
Mount the unit where it will stay supported and serviceable, then bring power in on the red (V+) and black (V-) leads. A 10A fuse is specified for the V+ input and a 10A fuse is included. The orange signal wire can be tied into a Poco control channel for digital control, or connected to any SPST toggle or rocker switch when you want standalone TTP control. Wire your lighting load to the RGBW outputs, leaving the white RGBW-only negative disconnected when you are driving an RGB-only accessory.
Control behavior on board
When connected to a Poco system, the module can respond to digital commands for color and brightness changes. In TTP mode, quick off-on toggles step through modes and settings, so you can set a brightness level, cycle through colors, and lock in the output without adding a dedicated keypad. Leaving the signal power off for more than about 4 seconds resets the module behavior.
Use cases on board
This is a solid fit for boats that already run Poco and want to add third-party RGB/RGBW zones without splitting the helm experience across multiple controllers. It also works well for smaller builds that want color and dimming control from an existing switch position, such as cockpit toe-kick lighting, under-gunnel strips, or cabin accent lighting.
