Overview
The Lumitec 101609 is a Pico C4 expansion module that lets a Poco Digital Lighting Control system run third-party RGB and RGBW lighting from the same controls used for your onboard Lumitec scenes.
It accepts 10 to 30 VDC for 12V and 24V boats, is IP67 rated for splash and washdown environments, and provides four channels (RGB plus an optional white channel) with up to 2.5A per channel.
On boats without a Poco controller, it can still operate from a standard SPST on-off switch using TTP toggle commands, giving you color and brightness control without adding a dedicated keypad.
Key features
- Extends Poco control to non-PLI RGB or RGBW accessories so mixed-brand lighting can live on one system.
- 10 to 30 VDC input range for common 12V and 24V DC electrical systems.
- Four-channel output for RGB plus optional white (leave the white lead disconnected for RGB-only loads).
- Up to 2.5A per channel capacity for driving RGB or RGBW accessories within the module’s limits.
- IP67 rating for installations where spray and washdowns are part of normal use.
- CE certified.
- Status LED feedback for power, output state, received messages, and fault indications.
Installation and setup
Mount the module in a spot that stays protected and is easy to reach for service, then feed it from a properly fused DC supply using the two-wire power input (red positive, black negative). The RGBW output is a 5-wire harness with a shared positive lead and individual negative leads for red, green, blue, and optional white, which makes it straightforward to tie into accessories that follow that wiring scheme.
If you are running RGB-only accessories, leave the white output wire unconnected. For best results on a boat that sees water and vibration, keep splices out of low points, secure the harness for strain relief, and seal terminations with marine-grade connectors and heat-shrink.
Control and system integration
When installed with a Poco system, the Pico C4 responds to PLI commands on the supply line for quick changes to color and dimming from supported interfaces. In toggle-switch mode, brief off-on power toggles step through control functions, including a 3-second brightness ramp on startup and a color cycle mode that runs through available colors in about 20 seconds, with a reset after the input power is left off for more than 4 seconds.
The status LED also helps with troubleshooting by indicating fault conditions such as over-temperature, over or under voltage, or over-current.
Environmental and physical fit
The housing is about 1.9 in wide, 2.6 in tall, and 0.52 in deep, with an operating range of -31F to 131F (-35C to 55C). That fits well behind the helm, inside consoles, and in other tight spaces where you want the module close to the accessory wiring, while still keeping it away from standing water.
Use cases on board
This module makes sense when you want third-party RGB accents such as lighted speakers, cupholders, or signage to match the rest of your Lumitec lighting colors. It also works well on smaller boats that want multi-color control from a simple on-off switch, without dedicating helm space to additional controllers.
