Overview
The Vimar Eikon 20005 is a modular 1P 16 AX 250 V two-way rocker switch range with a lightable, replaceable button, offered in 1-module and 2-module formats. It is a flush-mounted switch for interior electrical points where you want a clean panel finish and a familiar rocker action.
Across the range, the switch uses screw terminals, optional exchangeable LED lighting for control or orientation, and a thermoplastic halogen-free body with an IP40 rating. The 1-module versions are 22.3 mm wide, while the 2-module versions are 44.8 mm wide. Both formats are 49 mm high with a 25 mm built-in depth.
For onboard use, this type of switch makes sense in protected interior spaces such as cabins, companionways, enclosed helm areas, or service panels. Its published rating is for 250 V switching, so buyers working on 12 V or 24 V DC battery circuits should check system requirements carefully before using it as a panel switch.
Key features
- 1P two-way rocker switch rated 16 AX at 250 V
- Lightable design with exchangeable LED for control or orientation lighting
- Replaceable rocker button for matching the panel finish or module format
- Screw-terminal connection with snap-in mounting for modular flush installations
- Thermoplastic halogen-free body with matte finish and IP40 protection for protected interior locations
- Maximum 200 W for self-ballasted lamps under IEC 60669-1:2017
Variants
This range is offered in grey, silver, and white finishes, and each finish is available in both 1-module and 2-module versions. Across the listed options, the switch function stays the same, so the main fit differences are the visible finish and the space the switch occupies in the mounting layout.
The 1-module versions suit tighter layouts where a single module opening is already planned. The 2-module versions use the same switch function in a wider front format, which can help when the surrounding trim or the rest of the panel is built around 2-module spacing.
Compatibility and fit
This is a flush-mounted modular switch, so the first thing to check is the module count used in the panel and whether the installation is inside a protected area. IP40 is suitable for interior locations that stay out of direct spray and regular washdown. It is not the right match for exposed deck positions, open cockpits without cover, or machinery spaces where water and grime are routine.
Because the switch is rated at 250 V, it is better matched to onboard AC installations within its rating than to low-voltage DC switching. It can also be used where optional locator lighting helps you find the switch in low ambient light.
Installation and onboard use
The screw-terminal layout and snap-in format make it straightforward to wire into a neat interior panel, refit project, or cabin switch bank. On a boat, that usually means saloon lighting, corridor lighting, cabin access points, or other protected AC switching positions where a standard rocker layout is preferred.
This range is a good match for builders and refit owners who already use the Vimar Eikon modular format and want a consistent look across the vessel interior. It also works well when the same switch function is needed in more than one finish or in both 1-module and 2-module panel openings.
