Overview
The Jabsco 18670-9127 is a ballast pump for wake and surf boats that need a direct OEM-style replacement with the same mounting position and the same electrical connection. It uses a reversible flexible impeller layout, moves up to 9 GPM, and connects through 1 inch hose barb ports or 1/2 inch NPT internal threads.
This version comes fitted with the green run-dry impeller and a Deutsch connector, with no reversing switch included. It complies with USCG 183.410 and ISO 8846 MARINE ignition protection requirements, which matters when the pump is installed in gasoline-powered boats. It is not for potable water systems.
For owners replacing a failed factory ballast pump, this is the kind of part that keeps the original plumbing and wiring approach intact. It suits boats already set up around this pump style, especially where the goal is to restore fill and drain function without changing the ballast layout.
Key features
- Direct OEM-style replacement for many wake and surf boat ballast systems, using the original-style mounting position.
- Deutsch electrical connector already installed for a straightforward plug-in swap on matching harnesses.
- Reversible flexible impeller pump that can fill or empty ballast tanks when the boat is wired for reversing operation.
- 9 GPM flow rate for ballast transfer in wake and surf applications.
- Ports accept 1 inch hose connections or 1/2 inch NPT internal fittings.
- Green run-dry impeller fitted from the factory.
- Complies with USCG 183.410 and ISO 8846 MARINE ignition protection requirements.
Compatibility and fit
This pump makes the most sense as a like-for-like replacement on boats already rigged for a Jabsco ballast pump with the same connector, hose size, and mounting pattern. Before ordering, check the plug type, the hose connection style, and the pump footprint on the bracket or mounting surface, especially if the boat has had previous ballast work done.
Because this model does not include a reversing switch, it belongs in systems where reversing control is already handled elsewhere in the boat. That is common on factory-installed wake and surf ballast setups that use helm switches or integrated ballast controls.
Installation and setup
In a typical replacement job, the hoses transfer over to the new pump, the unit bolts back into the original location, and the power lead plugs into the existing connector. Keeping the same mounting pattern saves time in tight ballast lockers and bilge-adjacent compartments where access is limited.
The service impeller for this pump is 6303-0007-P. That is the spare to keep aboard if you maintain your own ballast system and want a faster recovery from an impeller failure during the season.
