Overview
The Jabsco 18673 Replacement Impeller Kit is a Profile I flexible impeller kit for compatible marine pumps used in engine cooling, transfer, bilge, and general water-handling applications.
This range uses a 10-blade impeller with a 2 in diameter, 7/8 in depth, 1/2 in shaft diameter, brass insert, and drive type 1 or 2 fitment. The two configurations share the same main size and drive format, with the material changing between neoprene and nitrile to suit different onboard fluids and service conditions.
Key features
- Profile I replacement impeller format for compatible Jabsco flexible impeller pumps and matching marine pump applications.
- 10-blade impeller with 2 in diameter, 7/8 in depth, and 1/2 in shaft diameter for size matching during service replacement.
- Drive type 1 or 2 with a brass insert, making fit confirmation easier when comparing against the removed impeller.
- Neoprene option suits engine cooling and fresh or salt water transfer where oil or diesel contamination is minimal.
- Nitrile option suits bilge and transfer duties where water may be heavily contaminated with oil or diesel.
- Useful as a planned maintenance spare for inboard engine rooms, generator raw-water pumps, utility pumps, and onboard service kits.
Variants
This product is offered in two material configurations for different marine pumping conditions.
The impeller size, blade count, shaft diameter, drive type, and brass insert are consistent across the listed variants. The material is the key difference, and that choice should match the liquid being pumped.
- 18673-0001-P: Material Neoprene. This version is the common choice for raw-water engine cooling and fresh or salt water transfer where the pump is not handling heavy oil or diesel contamination.
- 18673-0003-P: Material Nitrile. This version is better suited to bilge pumping or transfer work where the water may contain oil, diesel, or similar contamination.
Installation and fit
Before ordering, match the old impeller by profile, diameter, depth, shaft diameter, blade count, and drive type. Flexible impellers can look similar across sizes, so checking the removed part against these measurements helps avoid an engine-room service delay.
During installation, coat the impeller with suitable impeller lubricant before fitting it into the pump body. This helps the vanes seat cleanly during startup and reduces dry friction while the pump begins to prime.
Use on board
This kit is a practical spare for boats that rely on flexible impeller pumps for raw-water cooling, generator cooling, bilge service, or general transfer work. Keeping the correct material on board matters because a cooling-water pump and a contaminated bilge-transfer pump may need the same physical size but a different impeller compound.
