Overview
The Lumishore 010-04520-00 is a thru-hull underwater LED light that runs full color change (RGBW) through an external multi-channel driver for 12 V and 24 V systems (10.5 to 31 V DC). Output is rated at 12,000 fixture lumens in white with a 110 degree beam, so it throws a wide wash across the transom and hull side rather than a narrow hotspot.
This is a true underwater-rated unit (IP68) with a bronze body and a borosilicate glass lens, built for permanent immersion, washdowns, and the constant vibration you get in real boating use. The face is 110 mm (4.33 in) in diameter with a low 18 mm (0.70 in) housing profile on the outside of the hull.
Key features
- Works on 12 V and 24 V DC systems with a 10.5 to 31 V DC input range
- 12,000 fixture lumens (white) with a wide 110 degree beam angle
- Full color change (RGBW) for scene lighting and color effects when paired with compatible control equipment
- IP68 water-ingress rating for continuous underwater mounting
- Bronze body with borosilicate glass lens for long-term underwater exposure
- External multi-channel driver and Lumi-DMX communications (DMX512 and RDMX compatible)
- Max current draw: 8.8 A at 12 V or 4.4 A at 24 V for circuit sizing
- 3 m (9.8 ft) light cable length for reaching a dry, serviceable driver location inside the hull
- Thru-hull cut-out size: 27 mm (1-1/16 in) with a 140 mm (5.51 in) shaft length
Compatibility and fit
This light installs as a thru-hull fitting, so plan for both the shaft cut-out and the internal clearance needed to tighten and seal the assembly. The 110 mm face diameter matters if you are spacing multiple lights or fitting around trim tabs, exhaust outlets, transducers, or boarding hardware. A bonding connection is provided on the light and bonding is required for galvanic protection. Hull isolation sleeves are available for metal hull installations, and non-GRP hull types may require an isolation approach.
Electrical and control integration
Power the driver from your DC distribution with a correctly sized fuse or breaker, and keep the power feed as short as practical. The lighting control link uses Lumi-DMX (DMX512 and RDMX compatible), which is a common fit for integrated lighting setups and systems that route lighting control through a helm display or a dedicated lighting controller. All electrical connections should be made waterproof and supported so they do not work loose in a wet, vibrating environment.
Installation and setup
Mount on a flat section of hull or transom and position the light 150 to 250 mm (6 to 10 in) below the minimum loaded waterline. For multi-light installs, spacing between 0.8 m and 2 m (2.5 ft to 6.5 ft) is typical depending on hull shape and the effect you want. The light cable is specified as a fixed 3 m run, so choose a driver location that stays dry and remains accessible for service without cutting the cable.
What’s included
- EOS THX804 thru-hull underwater LED light
- External multi-channel driver
- 1 m DMX cable
Use on board
This setup makes sense for cruisers, sport boats, and larger yachts that want underwater lighting tied into a broader lighting control system, especially when color scenes and synchronized effects are part of the plan. It is also a good fit for owners who want a flush exterior profile while still keeping the driver and wiring inside the boat where it can be inspected and serviced.
