Overview
The Lumishore 010-04529-00 is an EOS TIX404 interchangeable thru-hull underwater LED light that delivers full-color RGBW output and up to 7,500 fixture lumens in white with a 110-degree beam. It runs on 10.5 to 31 V DC for 12 V and 24 V systems and carries an IP68 water-ingress rating for underwater mounting. The body is marine bronze with a borosilicate glass lens.
This is a flush-fit style light with a low external profile: the face is 88 mm (3.47 in) in diameter and the housing stands 8 mm (0.32 in) proud of the hull, with a 136 mm (5.35 in) shaft for the thru-hull section. Plan for a 57 mm (2.25 in) cable hole cut-out, or 64 mm (2.5 in) when using a Delrin sleeve. The light cable is 3 m (9 ft 9 in) as standard, with extensions available up to 6 m (19 ft 6 in) total.
Key features
- Full-color RGBW output with up to 7,500 fixture lumens in white; 110-degree beam spreads light wide at the waterline.
- 10.5 to 31 V DC input for 12 V and 24 V boats; max current draw 5.8 A at 12 V and 2.9 A at 24 V.
- IP68 water-ingress rating for underwater mounting.
- Marine bronze body with a borosilicate glass lens.
- Low-profile thru-hull geometry: 88 mm face diameter, 8 mm housing profile, 136 mm shaft length; 57 mm cable hole cut-out, or 64 mm with a Delrin sleeve.
- Lumi-DMX communications (DMX 512 and RDMX compatible) with plug-and-play connections; supports MFD control when paired with an EOS-LUX Command Center.
- Bonding connection provided for galvanic protection; isolation sleeves are available for metal-hull installations.
Installation and setup
For typical hull-side or transom installs, mount the light 150 to 250 mm (6 to 10 in) below the minimum load waterline and keep spacing between lights in the 0.8 to 2 m (2.5 to 6.5 ft) range for an even spread. Do not attempt to install or remove the light with the vessel in the water, and avoid locations where the light could see temperatures above 65 C (150 F), such as near hot engine components or exhaust discharge.
Each light should be protected with a suitable fuse or circuit breaker, with each light individually fused. The exposed inner hull surface should be sealed before the thru-hull is secured, and the hull surface should be clean and free of grease and old anti-foul where the sealant lands. When tightening the retaining bolts, do not over-tighten; 3 Nm per bolt should not be exceeded.
Electrical and control integration
The unit uses an internal multi-channel driver and supports features like automatic thermal roll-back, low-voltage roll-back with cut-out, soft-start electronics protection, reverse polarity protection, inrush current protection, and power-line noise suppression. Surge protection is rated at 3000 V.
Control and lighting effects run through Lumi-DMX, which is compatible with DMX 512 and RDMX. Color control, scenes, and synchronized effects are available when the light is integrated into an EOS system, including setups that control lighting from a compatible MFD using an EOS-LUX Command Center.
Materials and corrosion protection
The marine bronze body and bonding provision help manage galvanic protection in a typical bonded installation. Bonding connections should be checked before returning the vessel to the water. When installing into wood, metal, or carbon fiber hulls with an isolation sleeve kit, the light should not be bonded.
Use cases on board
This light is a good match when you want full-color underwater lighting on the transom or hull sides and you have inside-hull access for wiring and service. It also fits builds that want lighting tied into an MFD-driven setup or a DMX-based control system, while still running from the boat’s 12 V or 24 V DC supply.
Maintenance and care
Plan on a quick monthly inspection of the light module, driver, and cable attachments. Keep the body and lens area free of sea growth. Clean with a soft cloth or a soft-bristled brush, and use a plastic scraper or soft brush on the glass when needed. Avoid abrasive cloths and abrasive cleaning agents.
Do not use chemical sprays, harsh cleaners, or sandblasting on the light. If the light is covered during maintenance or painting, keep it switched off until all covers are removed. To reduce marine growth on the external body, use a quality anti-fouling system on the housing and renew it regularly, keeping coatings off the lens area.
