Overview
The TACO Marine F13-0241/244BN-1 is a flat deck hinge with pin and lanyard for 7/8" boat top tubing. It gives a bimini top, canopy frame, or similar shade structure a secure pivot point on a flat mounting surface, especially where quick removal or seasonal breakdown is part of normal use.
This hinge is part of TACO Marine's Ball & Socket top fitting range and uses a patented ball and socket pivot design for full rotation. The body is made from polished Type 316L stainless steel, and the Delrin insert helps reduce rattling while keeping movement smooth under normal boat motion.
The quick-release pull pin with lanyard makes the hinge practical for tops that need to come off for storage, trailering preparation, service access, or changing weather. It is a good match for boat owners replacing worn bimini hardware or building a clean attachment point for 7/8" stainless or aluminum top tubing.
Key features
- Fits 7/8" tube used on many bimini tops, canvas tops, and shade frames.
- Flat deck hinge format suits flat mounting areas such as deck pads and flat windshield headers.
- Patented ball and socket pivot allows full rotation for easier alignment of the top frame.
- Polished Type 316L stainless steel construction stands up well in saltwater and exposed deck locations.
- Delrin insert helps keep the connection tight, smooth, and less prone to rattling.
- Quick-release pull pin and lanyard allow the frame connection to be released without losing the pin overboard.
- Uses #8 oval head countersunk screws for installation.
- Covered by a 5-year limited warranty.
Installation and fit
This hinge is meant for a flat mounting surface and should be installed where the top frame can pivot without binding against surrounding hardware, glass, canvas, or railings. Before drilling, check the tube size, hinge angle, and the sweep of the frame through its full range of movement.
Use fasteners that suit the mounting surface and backing structure on the boat. On fiberglass decks or windshield headers, a clean pilot hole, marine sealant under the base, and proper backing support help protect the mounting area from water intrusion and movement over time.
Use on board
This part works well for bimini top and shade frame connections on center consoles, runabouts, cruisers, and fishing boats where deck hardware sees spray, sun, and vibration. The polished stainless finish also suits visible cockpit and deck areas where the hardware needs to look clean alongside other stainless fittings.
For replacements, compare the existing hinge style, tube size, mounting footprint, and pin arrangement before ordering. Matching those points helps the new hinge line up with the existing top frame and keeps installation straightforward.
