Overview
The Lumishore 010-04540-00 is a 12 V DC recessed downlight with white light plus RGB color, built for overhead mounting in interior and exterior areas on a boat.
It runs on 10 to 15 V DC and draws up to 0.4 A, so it fits cleanly on typical 12 V lighting circuits. The sealed front is rated IP67 for spray and routine washdowns.
For fit planning, the bezel measures 64.0 mm (2.519 in) and the cutout is 50.8 mm (2.0 in). The body depth is about 21 mm (0.83 in), which helps when headliner or hardtop space is tight.
Key features
- 12 V DC only (10 to 15 V DC) with max current draw of 0.4 A
- White light plus RGB color output for general lighting and accent scenes
- IP67-rated sealed front for wet areas and frequent washdowns
- Low depth around 21 mm (0.83 in) for thin panels and tight overhead cavities
- 64.0 mm (2.519 in) bezel with a 50.8 mm (2.0 in) cutout
- Two-wire hookup with spring-clip retention for a clean, flush install
Compatibility and fit
This downlight is for 12 V DC systems only. If your boat is primarily 24 V, plan on a proper 12 V feed or a converter that can hold the supply in the 10 to 15 V DC range under load.
Check the 2.0 in (50.8 mm) cutout and confirm you have about 0.83 in (21 mm) of clearance behind the panel for the light body and wiring bend radius.
Installation and setup
It mounts as a recessed fixture using spring clips, so the usual workflow is to mark the location, cut a 2.0 in (50.8 mm) hole, then feed the two conductors through before seating the light into place until the bezel sits flush.
On cored panels or any overhead area that can get wet, sealing the cut edge of the hole helps keep moisture out of the laminate and prevents swelling around the opening over time.
Electrical and control
Wiring is a simple two-wire connection. Protect the circuit with an appropriately sized fuse or breaker for the wiring and total lighting load, and keep connections crimped, sealed, and supported so vibration does not work them loose.
Basic on and off control works from a standard switch. RGB color selection and scene control require a compatible controller when you want more than simple on and off behavior.
Use cases on board
This style of low-profile downlight makes sense for cabin headliners, companionway overheads, hardtops, and cockpit overhangs where you want one fixture that can handle white light for tasks and RGB for ambience.
It is a good match for boats with 12 V lighting circuits that need an overhead light in a damp area and still want color options without taking up much depth behind the panel.
Maintenance and care
After saltwater runs, a quick fresh-water rinse around the bezel helps keep deposits from building up. Avoid harsh solvents on the lens, and re-check wiring support if the fixture has been removed for access behind the panel.
