Overview
The Raymarine Wireless Wind Kit with Heading for SeaTalkNG Networks is a sailing instrument package that adds wireless wind data and heading information to a SeaTalkng instrument network. It combines a wireless wind transmitter, MicroTalk gateway, wireless remote display, EV-1 heading sensor, and SeaTalkng cabling, giving sailboats a cleaner way to bring masthead wind and heading data into the onboard electronics system.
The kit is offered in two regional radio-frequency versions: 916 MHz for North America, Australia, and New Zealand, and 868 MHz for Europe and the rest of the world. Both versions support SeaTalkng and NMEA 2000 integration, so wind and heading data can be shared with compatible Raymarine instruments, multifunction displays, and other connected systems on board.
This package is a strong fit for sailboats where mast wiring is difficult, weight aloft matters, or the owner wants to add wind data without pulling new cable through the mast. The solar-powered wireless wind transmitter can run for more than 300 hours between charges, which helps keep installation simple while still supporting regular use on cruising and racing boats.
Key features
- Adds wireless wind and heading data to a Raymarine wired or wireless instrument system.
- MicroTalk gateway connects the wireless wind system to a SeaTalkng network for onboard data sharing.
- SeaTalkng and NMEA 2000 compatible for integration with suitable marine electronics networks.
- Solar-powered wireless masthead wind transmitter can operate for more than 300 hours between charges.
- EV-1 heading sensor supplies stable heading data and measures boat motion using a 9-axis sensor system.
- Wireless remote display supports system setup and lets crew view instrument data from different positions on board.
- Regional frequency options cover 916 MHz and 868 MHz markets, helping match the kit to local radio requirements.
Variants
This wireless wind kit is offered in two regional configurations. The main difference between the variants is the operating frequency and the region where that frequency is used.
Both variants are for SeaTalkng networks and include the same core system type: wireless wind, heading data, a gateway, a remote display, and the SeaTalkng cabling needed for network connection.
- T70351: Region North America, Australia And New Zealand, Frequency 916MHz. This version matches 916 MHz markets and is the correct regional configuration for boats used in those areas.
- T70344: Region Europe And Rest Of World, Frequency 868MHz. This version matches 868 MHz markets and is the regional configuration for boats used in Europe and other supported areas outside the 916 MHz regions.
What’s included
- Wireless Wind Transmitter
- MicroTalk Gateway
- Wireless Remote Display
- EV-1 Heading Sensor
- SeaTalkng cabling kit
Installation and setup
The wireless masthead transmitter reduces the need to route a wind transducer cable through the mast, which can save time during retrofit work and avoids adding unnecessary weight aloft. The MicroTalk gateway mounts on board and plugs into the boat’s SeaTalkng backbone, where it passes wireless wind and heading data into the wired network.
For best results, the selected variant should match the boat’s operating region before installation. The heading sensor should be mounted in a suitable location away from magnetic interference, and the SeaTalkng network should have proper power, termination, and cabling layout before the kit is commissioned.
Compatibility and onboard use
This kit is most relevant for sailboats using Raymarine SeaTalkng instruments, multifunction displays, or compatible NMEA 2000 systems that can use wind and heading data. It supports common sailing tasks such as trimming to apparent wind, monitoring wind shifts, feeding heading information to displays, and improving the data available to connected navigation electronics.
Cruising sailors gain a cleaner retrofit path for adding wind information, while racing crews benefit from having wind and heading data available across the instrument network without adding a wired masthead run. The wireless remote display also gives crew a practical way to view or configure data away from the main helm display.
