Overview
The Raymarine T70346 is a wireless i60 wind and backbone kit for sailboats that need apparent wind speed and angle at the helm without running a mast cable. It combines an i60 Wind instrument display, a solar-powered wireless masthead wind transmitter, a Micro-Talk wireless performance sailing gateway, a T113 wireless remote display, and the SeaTalkng backbone parts needed to tie the system into a Raymarine instrument network.
The i60 display uses an analog needle with an LCD readout, so wind angle can be read quickly while still showing digital wind data. The display runs from a 12V DC system, operates across a 10 to 16V DC range, and carries an IPX6 waterproof rating, which suits cockpit and helm installations exposed to spray and washdowns.
The wireless wind transmitter sends masthead data over Raymarine Micronet wireless technology, while the Micro-Talk gateway passes that data onto the SeaTalkng network for use with compatible Raymarine instruments, multifunction displays, and autopilots. The i60 display measures 110 mm wide, 115 mm high, and 44 mm deep, making it a familiar fit for standard instrument panel layouts.
Key features
- Wireless masthead wind transmitter reduces the need to run a cable down the mast, which is useful for refits and boats where mast wiring is difficult to access.
- i60 Wind display shows wind angle on an analog needle with supporting data on an LCD screen.
- Backlit display and keypad help keep wind data readable at night and during low-light watchkeeping.
- SeaTalkng network connection lets wind data feed compatible Raymarine displays, instruments, and autopilots.
- Micro-Talk gateway bridges Raymarine Micronet wireless instruments with wired SeaTalkng systems.
- Solar-powered wireless transmitter and remote display use integrated lithium batteries, with autonomous operation up to 300 hours when fully charged.
- T113 wireless remote display can repeat, configure, and control Micronet instrument data from different positions on board.
- i60 display has two SeaTalkng connections plus wind transducer connections for flexible integration with existing Raymarine instrument layouts.
Installation and setup
This kit is especially useful when adding wind instrumentation to an existing sailboat or upgrading an older helm without pulling new wiring through the mast. The masthead transmitter mounts at the top of the rig and sends wind data wirelessly, while the i60 display can be mounted at the helm, cockpit bulkhead, or nav area where wind angle and speed are easiest to see.
The included backbone hardware helps establish the SeaTalkng network path for the display and gateway. For boats already using Raymarine instruments, the kit keeps the wind system within the same ecosystem instead of creating a separate display that cannot share data around the boat.
Electrical and system integration
The i60 display is intended for 12V DC onboard systems and draws low power, with typical display-only consumption under 1W. The Micro-Talk gateway connects into the SeaTalkng network and carries data such as wind angle, wind speed, depth, boat speed, temperature, heading, GPS data, time, date, and navigation information between compatible wireless and wired Raymarine devices.
For sailing use, the practical value is not only seeing wind at the helm. Wind data can also support compatible autopilot sailing modes and give a more complete instrument picture on Raymarine multifunction displays, which is useful during coastal cruising, club racing, and longer passages where crew may move between the cockpit and nav station.
Use cases on board
This kit is a good match for sailors who want masthead wind data without the work of replacing or installing a wired mast cable. It also suits boats where crew want wind information at more than one position, since the wireless remote display can be carried or kept in its bracket for quick checks away from the main instrument display.
On cruising boats, the system helps with sail trim, watchkeeping, and autopilot use. On race-oriented boats, it keeps wind angle and wind speed visible while reducing mast wiring complexity during installation or refit work.
