The JL Audio 010-13857-00 is an adapter cable that turns the SiriusXM connector on compatible JL Audio MediaMaster source units into a pair of analog stereo AUX inputs, with 2V RMS input sensitivity.

It is a simple way to add a hardwired line level audio feed at the helm, so you can bring sound in from devices that provide left and right analog output. It also keeps the rest of your system unchanged since it plugs into the head unit’s SiriusXM port rather than requiring modifications to the boat’s wiring.

Compatibility and fit

This cable is meant for MediaMaster source units that have a SiriusXM connector. Since it uses that port, it is intended for setups where the SiriusXM connection is being repurposed for an AUX input.

If your system is an MM80-HR, this adapter is not a match. For all other compatible MediaMaster units, verify you have access to the rear connection area and enough room to route the cable without tight bends or strain on the connectors.

Installation and setup

Plan the run so the AUX end reaches a dry, protected spot behind the dash or inside a console, away from washdown spray and areas that trap water. After connecting it to the head unit, connect your source’s left and right analog outputs to the RCA inputs and secure the cable so vibration does not work the plugs loose over time.

Before you head out, confirm the head unit is on updated MediaMaster software, then select the AUX input in the source list and set the source device volume to a steady line level for consistent listening on board.
