Overview

The Vimar Arké 19147 is a flush-mounted rotary dimmer for 120 V AC lighting circuits. It runs at 50-60 Hz and is rated for 30-500 W incandescent loads or 30-300 VA circuits using ferromagnetic transformers. On board, this places it in boats with 120 V AC interior lighting on shore power or inverter-fed circuits, not in 12 V or 24 V DC lighting systems.

The control uses a rotary potentiometer, and the knob remains visible in the dark for easier adjustment at night. The device body measures 22.3 mm wide, 49 mm high, and 60.5 mm deep, which helps when checking panel space and flush-box depth before installation.

This dimmer makes sense in cabins, saloons, and enclosed helm panels where a manual AC dimming control is needed for compatible incandescent lighting. It is a better fit for spaces inside the boat than for exposed switch positions out on deck.

Across the listed versions, the electrical rating, rotary control, flush-mounted format, and 22.3 x 49 x 60.5 mm body size stay the same. What changes is the visible finish: the grey and white versions use a matt untreated surface, while the metal version uses a matt lacquered aluminium-colour finish.

• VM19147.B: Color White. This version uses a matt white face that sits quietly on light-coloured switch panels and cabin interiors.
• VM19147.M: Color Metal. This version uses a matt lacquered aluminium-colour face, giving the control a more technical look next to metallic trim.
• VM19147: Color Grey. This version uses a matt grey face for a lower-contrast appearance on darker switch areas.

Compatibility and fit

Check the lighting load before ordering. This unit is specified for incandescent lamps and for circuits that use ferromagnetic transformers. LED loads, electronic transformers, and low-voltage DC systems should be checked carefully before treating this as a direct match.

For a boat, this is a sensible option where 120 V AC lighting is already part of the electrical plan and the dimmer will be mounted in a flush panel inside the vessel. It suits refit work and interior panel updates where a simple manual dimmer is preferred over networked or touch-based control.
