Overview
The MotorGuide 8M4004174 is a Lowrance 9-pin HD+ sonar adapter cable for Tour and Tour Pro HD+ enabled trolling motors, letting your Lowrance display read sonar from the transducer beneath the motor.
It supports 83/200 kHz and 455/800 kHz sonar frequencies for clear 2D and HD views under the bow, using the black 9-pin Xsonic transducer port found on compatible Lowrance units.
This adapter is only for Tour and Tour Pro motors with HD+ sonar support, and it is not compatible with Xi Series motors.
Key features
- Connects HD+ sonar from Tour and Tour Pro trolling motors to a Lowrance black 9-pin Xsonic transducer port
- Supports 83/200 kHz and 455/800 kHz sonar frequencies for 2D and HD views beneath the trolling motor
- Compatible with Lowrance HDS and Elite Ti2 displays that use the black 9-pin Xsonic transducer connector
- Not compatible with Xi Series motors
Compatibility and fit
This cable is a match when your boat is rigged with a Tour or Tour Pro motor that is HD+ sonar enabled, and your Lowrance display has the black 9-pin Xsonic transducer port. If your display uses a different transducer connector style, this adapter will not plug in.
Installation and setup
Route the cable along the trolling motor harness so it can stow and deploy without pulling on the connectors. Keep the connection point where it stays out of standing water, and leave a small drip loop so water does not track into the plug during washdowns or rain.
After installation, set the sonar source on the display to the trolling motor transducer so readings come from beneath the bow rather than another transducer on the boat.
On-board use
This adapter makes sense for anglers running a bow-mounted Lowrance unit who want sonar under the trolling motor for positioning on structure, staying on contour, and watching bottom changes while they work the front deck.
